A Strange Encounter

I was walking down the sidewalk one afternoon when a man in a trench coat dropped his
wallet in front of me. Like most people would do in this situation, I picked it up to return it to
him. But as soon as I reached this stranger he turned to me, his flaming red eyes looking
into mine, as he gave me an unsettling smile.

Before I was able to process what was happening he grabbed my arms and swiftly
carried me into the sky. I don't know why I didn't react, I just stared at this mysterious
creature as its trench coat burnt off of him, revealing his abnormally red skin.

We kept flying through the sky as though he was a rocket ship carrying me into space.
The only difference was that we didn't stop in space, we were long through our galaxy and
we were entering a world so unfamiliar to me. He lowered me to the ground, and as I looked
around at this unknown land, I noticed it was very similar to photos I had seen of Mars, red
and cold.

I watched in fright as bodies of human beings like me, were hauled out in this Hell-like
place, and thrown from a cliff into a huge body of water. The creature that brought me here
turned to me and shook his head as if to say that's not why I'm here. I stared at him in horror,
too afraid to ask what he truly brought me here for.

The red creature guided me through crowds of beings that looked just like him. He
stopped in front of a tall building that seemed so out of place. I carefully looked around as we
entered this glass structure and were met by a monkey looking through a keychain with what
must have been at least a dozen keys. The monkey stopped rummaging through his keys
and looked up at me with a mysterious glint in his eyes

The beast who carried me to this nightmare shoved me forward. The monkey took a hold
of my hand and placed a silver key in it. He took a step back and pulled out another silver
key, that looked very similar to the one hanging loosely in my now limp hand.

He raised his long furry arm and slowly dragged it down through the air in one single
motion, as he did this I saw sparks of light come from the key, and soon enough there was a
hole in the space between us. I stared in shock as a portal opened up, not to just anywhere
but to what appeared to be Scotland. I was suddenly pushed by the red monster and fell
through the portal landing on a pile of rocks with a crunch.

I let out a loud groan as I rolled onto my back. I stared up into the cloudless blue sky, and
just laid there for a while trying to put together what had just happened. After a while I sat up,
hearing the sound of waves hitting the shore, and only then did I realize I still had the key
with me. I didn't question where I was going as my legs carried me to the sea.

I swung my hand forward, throwing the key far into the water, so far that I couldn't see
where it fell. I collapsed on the white sand, and gazed out into the glittering sea, feeling my
eyes begin to droop. I rested my head in my hands, and brought up my knees, curling up
into a ball, as I slowly gave into exhaustion.
