Speaking part 1

1. Hometown
a)Which town or city do you come from?
I am from Hưng Yên Province which is located in the Northern part of
Viet Nam.
I was born and raised/ bred in Hưng Yên Province

b) What do you like about your home

town?
 Bustling/vibrant/lively: ồn ào, náo nhiệt.
Ex: I love hanging out in district 1, which is a bustling
downtown area. It’s the best place to enjoy Saigon’s lively nightlife.
 The slow/fast/hectic pace of life: nhịp sống chậm, hối hả..
Ex: The laid-back atmosphere and slow pace of life make this a
great place to recharge.
 Upscale neighborhood: khu nhà giàu.
 Get away from the hustle and bustle of city life: thoát khỏi sự
ồn ào của thành thị.
 Peaceful/tranquil countryside: nông thôn yên bình.
Ex: As corny as it sounds, home is where the heart is.
I. People: I find that people are generally friendly and quite open. I
mean, they share personal information with you freely, so it’s easy
to make friends.
 Respect the queue: văn hóa xếp hàng.
II. Enviroment: Well, what I like about my hometown is the
environment here. Being a countryside, the air is so clean and
fresh. I would say that my hometown is immensely tranquil and
serene, it’s not crazily crowded as in HNC.
c)What places are famous in your
hometown??
Well, my hometown has several well-known places because it’s
related to historical events. But if I have to make a pick, I would say
Mother Goddness which is a popular place of worship. Located in Pho
Hien, the temple embodies beautiful architecture and unique cultural
values.
d) In the future, would you like to keep
living in this city or would you like to go
back to your hometown? Why?
Actually I would like to keep living in this city. If you ask me why, I
will say there’s more than one reason. But I’ll make it brief. In the
term of the job opportunity, I find it easier to seek an occupation here-
where a large number of companies as well as corporation are built.
Another reason is I have built my own social networking, so this
could help flourish my career. Moreover, Ha Noi is the capital of VN
where the most cutting-edge facilities and top-notch universities are
located.

2.Accommodation
a. Are you living in a house or an apartment?
Well, I’m living in a rented house which is located in this city as I’m
a…year student. It’s in Lang street where a large number of people
commute everyday. It’s a terraced house which has 4 rooms:
bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living room. It’s quite small but cosy. I’m
living with my friend. She’s my countryman.
b. Do you like your house?
Yes, I would say I love my house. What I really like about it is the
living room, it’s nice and spacious and really comfy. Other parts of
my house are comfy as well, they’re smaller than the living room,
certainly but cosy.
c. What is your favourite room in your place?
Actually what I like about my house is the living area. It has a comfy
sofa with fluffy cushions. It could be a room full of contrasting colors
with decorations and ornaments on the table, with a picture hanging
on the wall.
d. Is there anything that you don’t like about the area
where you’re living?
Well, the one that I don’t like about my area is probably my neighbor.
It’s quite noisy. I mean the noise pollution comes from traffic. A large
number of people who are in traffic simultaneously result in noise
pollution: the sound from engine of car, motorbike.... That makes me
disturbed and can’t concentrate on work.
e. In the future, would you like to keep living there or to
move to a new place?
Frankly speaking, i like to move to a new place because of my place
now is just in student accommodation. If the truth be told,it’s a little
bit cramped. After graduating, i would like to move to a comfy and
spacious flat, where i could enjoy tranquil place for yourself, i could
self-design it follow my wishes.
3.Crowded places.
f. What kinds of places are crowded in your city?
I’m living in HN, so the city seems to be hectic all the time, all the
streets, especially, Lang street, where my university is located, streets
are often jam-packed, and if you take a stroll in this area during the
weekend, you’ll be surprised by how large the crowd is. Just because
on Lang street, there are some universities, shopping centers, hospitals
and so on..
g. Do you like crowded places?
I would say it depends on what sort of places you’re reffering to. If
it’s the places that pp can share the same interests or take part in
volunteering for community, that’s okay. I like it. But i don’t like
being around strangers and pp are discussing issues that i don’t know.
As an introvert, i easily get anxious and overwhelmed and i tend to
keep myself to myself. Frakingly speaking I hate being pushed and
shoved in crowded places.
