WRITING PART 1

Topic 1: Write 250 or more words about a place of Vietnam that you’ve ever been
to. (7pts)
2 years ago, I took a trip with my family to Hoi An – located in Quang Nam
province, Central Vietnam, which has been widely considered the most worth
visiting place in my country. Hoi An is one of the most famous tourist destinations
in Central Vietnam that attracts not only domestic tourists but also tourists from all
over the continents. In 1999, Hoi An Vietnam was even recognized by UNESCO as
a World Heritage Site. The three most special things in Hoi An may be
architecture, food, and tailoring. The town's architecture reflects a harmonious
blend of indigenous and foreign influences, notably Chinese, Japanese, and
European styles, showcasing its significance as a vital trading port in Southeast
Asia's history. It is a density of many pagodas, temples, and ancient houses that
bear its unique mark, which makes it very special and unlike any other place in
Vietnam. For example: the Japanese Covered Bridge, Phuc Kien Assembly Hall,
and Tan Ky Old House, Besides architecture, Hoi An Viet Nam is also famous as a
heaven of street food. Most of the food here is sold on the streets or in small alleys.
When we came to Hoi An, we were impressed by the famous specialties like Cao
Lau, Hoanh Thanh, Banh My … Besides, Hoi An also attracts us with its rustic
dishes such as Banh Beo and especially My Quang. Furthermore, Hoi An is very
well-known for silk and tailoring. In this small town, there are about 400 clothing
shops and tailor shops. Lots of tourists even come to Hoi An just to buy clothes,
and vests,..and see how the clever tailors produce excellent quality clothes. I
enjoyed my time in Hoi An ancient town a lot and I will gladly take another trip
back to this town soon.
Topic 2: The importance of the Internet in daily life. Give reasons for your
answer and include any relevant examples from your knowledge and experience.
It cannot be disputed that since its creation, the Internet has played a significant
role in our lives, and many people find it impossible to live happily without it. The
Internet is a vast network that connects computers all over the world. Through the
Internet, people can share information and communicate from anywhere with an
Internet connection. It was undeniable that the Internet had grown to be the largest
information system ever, including a variety of knowledge from many different
sectors, thanks to its enormous ability as an open-access gateway. Nowadays, the
Internet has become an important part of modern life. Firstly, the Internet can be a
very good form of entertainment. We can listen to music, read books, watch videos,
and play games on it. Some of the websites provide a good and healthy
environment for users to have fun. Secondly, access to information is perhaps one
of the most significant contributions of the Internet. With just a few clicks, people
can explore a vast repository of knowledge, from academic resources to news
articles and practical guides. It saves us a lot of time to search on websites instead
of going to the library and turning every single page of countless books to get what
we need. Thirdly, the Internet is the place where people can post and share their
information. We can meet and make friends with a lot of people, and it creates a
huge community. We can also communicate with one another online instead of
going long distances to meet or waiting for a long time to write a letter. In
conclusion, The Internet plays a huge role in everyday life, revolutionizing the way
we communicate, work, access information, and conduct various activities.
Topic 3: Write 250 words or more about the advantages and disadvantages of
living in big cities. (7pts)
Nowadays, more and more people choose to live in the city. It can't be denied that
living in the city has many benefits. First of all, one of the main advantages is the
abundance of opportunities. Large cities are centers of the economy, offering a
wide range of professional paths, social connections, and cultural experiences. The
variety of job areas encourages innovation and creativity while enabling people to
follow their dream careers. Secondly, big cities have medical centers, educational
facilities, entertainment venues, and a wide range of food alternatives. Public
transportation systems are often more developed, making it convenient for
residents to navigate the city. Besides advantages, living in the city brings us a lot
of disadvantages. Firstly, the increase of factories based on industrialization and
modernization has severely polluted the environment. Smoke from factories'
chimneys not only pollutes the air but also makes people get many serious cancers.
The second drawback of living in the city is the high cost of living. Housing,
transportation, and daily expenses are generally more expensive in big cities,
placing a strain on individuals and families. Additionally, the fast-paced lifestyle
can lead to heightened stress levels and a lack of work-life balance. Thirdly is the
issue of congestion and pollution. Traffic jams and crowded public spaces are
common, contributing to increased pollution levels and impacting both the
environment and residents' health. In conclusion, there are good things as well as
bad things about living in the city. If people know how to live and enjoy their life,
living in the city is one of the most interesting things that people want to
experience.

Topic 4: Write 250 words or more about your favorite teacher that you admire
most. (7pts)
One of the most influential figures in my academic journey has been my piano
teacher Mrs. Loan. Her influence on my life went well beyond the classroom; she
shaped not only how I perceived learning and personal development but also how I
understood music. What made Mrs. Johnson stand out was her unwavering passion
for music and her ability to instill that passion in her students. She had a unique
way of bringing music to life, making them relevant to my life. Her classes were
not just about learning how to play piano; they were about exploring the history of
music and other instruments. Mrs. Loan was more than a teacher; she recognized
my strengths and weaknesses, providing constructive feedback that pushed me to
excel. She motivated me to pursue my interests outside the classroom, instilling in
me a sense of self-confidence and determination. What truly set Mrs. Loan apart
was her genuine care for her students. She took the time to listen, offering guidance
and support during challenging times. In addition to being a skilled teacher, Mrs.
Loan also demonstrated empathy, kindness, and patience. Mrs. Loan's impact on
my life goes far beyond academic achievements. She taught me the importance of
passion, resilience, and compassion. Her lessons continue to resonate in my life,
shaping my values and influencing the way I approach challenges. I am incredibly
appreciative of her advice and inspiration during an important period in my
growth. Mrs. Loan remains my favorite teacher, a mentor whose lessons extend far
beyond the confines of a classroom.
