LEARNING PLAN in COMPUTER 10

DATES: JULY 1 - 5, 2019 QUARTER: First

WEEK: 3 TEACHER: Ms. Claire G. Cayangcang

CONTENT STANDARD:
The learner gain the mastery on the proper conversion of binary number into
binary code decimal (BCD).

PERFORMANCE STANDARD:
The learners apply and appreciate the importance of each classification of binary
code.

ESSENTIAL UNDERSTANDING:
Through the Binary code decimal, an individual can be able to identify the
classification of Binary Code, Perform the proper conversion Binary Code
Decimal, Appreciate the importance of each classification of binary code.
ESSENTIAL QUESTION:
What if binary codes are not available to human knowledge?
What are the possible effects if binary codes are useless or insignificant?

LEARNING COMPETENCIES:
The learners should be able to:
1. Identify the classification of Binary Code;
2. Perform the proper conversion Binary Code Decimal;
3. Appreciate the importance of each classification of binary code.

FIRST MEETING (July 1, 2019)

Learning Targets:
1. recall the conversation of the Number System from Binary to Hexadecimal.
I. PRELIMINARIES (10 minutes)
A. Prayer
B. Checking of Attendance
C. Classroom Setting

II. LESSON PROPER (40 minutes)

Activity: Group the students into four teams. Let the students pick one piece of
paper inside the paper box. The choices are the four common number systems.
With the picked number system, each group must be able to make a simple
simulation or role-play depicting in class the function, use or importance of the number
system. Each group will be given enough time to prepare and perform in front of the
class, in which time shall be determined by the teacher.
Checking of homework which was assigned during the previous meeting.

III. CLOSING PRAYER

SECOND to FIFTH MEETING (July 2 - 5, 2019)

Learning Targets:
1. share thoughts about the Binary Code Decimal;
2. appreciate the conversion of BCD;
3. familiarize how to convert BCD;

I. PRELIMINARIES (10 minutes)

A. Prayer
B. Checking of Attendance
C. Classroom Setting
D. Review
The students will sum up the previous topics discussed.

II. LESSON PROPER

A. Explore (20 minutes)
1. Present the essential question.
2. Present the Lesson Objectives.
3. Motivation
Using a multimedia presentation of sample computer applications,
let the students determine the binary code imbedded in it on a
sheet of paper. The student with the lowest number of listed binary
codes will be assigned to differentiate the classification of binary
code.

B. Firm-Up (80 minutes)

 Discuss with the students the important functions of binary code.
 Discuss and differentiate the classification of binary code.
 Demonstrate to the students how to convert binary code into Binary Coded
Decimal (BCD)or vice versa.
 Discuss and explain error codes and when it occurs.
 Discuss and explain error codes and when it occurs.

C. Deepen (30 minutes)

 Ask the students to accomplish items number 3 and 4 of Written Exercise 1.2
found on Exploring ICT Computer Hardware Servicing 2, page 20.

D. Transfer (50 minutes)

 Ask the students the classification of binary code and code conversion
 Written Exercise 1.2 found on exploring ICT Computer Hardware Servicing 2
 Illustrations of error codes

E. Summary of the Lesson (10 minutes)

The students will be asked to share their learning about the Binary code.

F. Assignment/Agreement:
1. Instruct the students to accomplish items number 1 and 2 of Written
Exercise 1.2 found on Exploring ICT Computer Hardware Servicing 2, page 20
2. Using two pieces of long bong paper, let the students bring in class at
least two illustrations of the existence of error codes and provide short
explanations below the illustrations.

III. CLOSING PRAYER
