A. VERB

S + V+ed (Regular words / Kata kerja beraturan)

S + V2 (Irregular words / Kata kerja tak beraturan)

E.g:

I watched tv.

I drunk water.

Mary and Jane fought each other yesterday.

My mother washed the dishes last night.

(-) S + did not + V1

E.g:

I did not watch tv.

I didn’t drink water.

(?) Did + S + V1 + ?

E.g:

Did Mary and Jane fight each other yesterday?

Did my mother wash the dishes last night?

(5w+1h) WH + did + S + V1 + ?

E.g. : What did you eat yesterday?

What did my mother wash last night?


B. TO BE

Was : I, she, he, it >> was not (wasn’t)

Were : You, we, they >> were not (weren’t)

(+) S + to be + adj + …

E.g.: You were angry at him two days ago

(-) S + to be + not + adj

E.g.: You were not angry at him two days ago

(?) To be + S + adj + ?

E.g.: Were you angry at him two days ago?

C. Adverb of time

Yesterday, … ago, last …, just, formerly

I just knew that she is such a mean person

I just tasted fried donuts.

We were formerly colleagues in the same workplace.


D. Regular Verbs

- Adding the “d” in the end of the word

- Adding the “ed” in the end of the word

- Change the “y” to “i” in the of the word
