Exercise 2.

1
1. Choose a laboratory experiment you have done at HUST and
imagine that you are assigned to write a lab report following the structure
provided in 1.3. Lab Report Structure section.
2. Create an outline for your lab report and submit it to Teams
Note: A checklist for writing an outline is given in Appendix 9

1. Title
- “Determine concentration of a hydrochloric acid solution by using
acid -base titration method.”
2. Abstract
- Titration is a common laboratory method of quantitative chemical
analysis to determine the concentration of an identified analysis.

- In this lab report, a sample of hydrochloric acid ( HCl) is tutta Ted

with sodium hydroxide (NaOH) by the phenolphthalein indicator.

HCl + NaOH => NaCl + H2O

3. Major points
- Concentration of a hydrochloric acid solution.
- Acid -base titration method.
- Experimental procedure.
- Suitable indicator of this experiment: .
- Color of endpoint of tritration: pink to colerless.
4. Supporting ideas
- Color change interval of Phenolphtalein.
- Recipe C1V1=C2V2 to calculate unknown concentration of a
hydrochloric acid.
5. Conclusion
- The results of this experiment show the figures which is easy to
determine concentration of a NaOH.
6. Citation
