ACTION
VERBS? As the name suggests, an action verb is used

to represent the action done by the subject in

a sentence. Action verbs cannot be used as

linking verbs. They have only one function, and


that is to denote the action in a sentence.

Action verbs are used immediately after the

noun or pronoun that acts as the subject in a

sentence. Action Verbs can be written in past

tense, simple, or continuous form.

The past tense is a grammatical tense

that we use to talk about something that

happened in the past, or the way

something was in the past. It’s one of the

three main tenses alongside present and

future, and it has four kinds: past simple,

past perfect, past continuous and past

perfect continuous.
