Questions for Case Study

Case 1 – Hazing

1. Students who belong in the secondary to tertiary levels are the ones who are often victims of the
fraternity organizations. People die each year because of these initiation rights.

2. Both decided to go through violence. The victims accepted their faith in the hands of the members of
the fraternity, and the fraternity members decided to exceed the limits of the applicant

3. It went wrong at the moment the victim decided to push through despite him exceeding his limit and
tolerance.

4. Moral Virtues
Prudence – This goes for both the victims and the accusers because they are already at an age where
they know what is right from what is wrong. Thinking about their welfare for the years ahead should be
their priority. Despite them knowing the notorious hazing process, they still proceeded to do it anyways.

Temperance – despite the victim who feels that loss sense of belongingness, he should have not joined
these fraternities. The fraternities on the other hand should have controlled the urge to abuse or even
kill the applicants in the process.

Case 2 – Vhong Navarro

1. There were two men who were not seen in the CCTV footage, and it seemed that the whole operation
was planned to make Vhong Navarro the accuser of the crime. Despite him being held at a detention
facility, his case was dismissed because of lack of probable cause.

2. Denise Cornejo and company decided to frame Vhong Navarro. This was our perspective because if
the crime that Vhong did was true, it should’ve had sufficient evidence and support to prove that he is
guilty of rape.

3. It all went wrong when the people who are working for Denise Cornejo planned to stage Vhong
Navarro and frame him as a suspect.

4. Moral Virtues

Justice – This moral virtue could have helped both the victims and the accusers because this is where a
person can differentiate what is socially right from what is socially wrong.

Temperance – Despite the possible hatred that Denise and Vhong both feel towards each other, this
virtue could have helped them control their urge to inflict both physical and emotional damage towards
each other and even the people around them.
