 Schematic diagrams must be shown wherever necessary. Any data you feel missing
suitably be assumed and stated clearly.

1. Briefly explain the study of different types of construction materials available in your
locality. Study must include the background, current status with their functions and
applications of construction materials. (Location of the individual students must be
specified in this explanation).

2. Take the transition zone into consideration and describe the Influence of the
transition zone on properties of concrete with neat sketch. Also explain the function of
transition zone.

3. With the development of hydration, concrete will change from a fluid to a plastic
state, and finally to a solid hardened state. You have asked to describe the properties
of concrete in the solid hardened state. Also explain the factor affecting to that
properties of concrete which you have considered in this study.

4. How is the durability issue considered in a mix design of concrete? Explain with
example as per your individual exposure condition and strength.

5. What is the purpose and application of conducting the laboratory test for freshly
mixed concrete and the binding materials used for making the concrete? Explain with
experimental procedure.

6. Why bricks are important in construction point of view explain in detail with their
application. Explain the essential test required before and after making the bricks in
industries with their purpose.
