METHODOLOGY

Research Design

This study used the descriptive-qualitative research method. The study aimed to assess

the profitability and profit efficiency of rice farmers in Mallig Plains.

Respondents of the Study

The rice farmers in Mallig Plains will serve as the respondents of the study. Purposive

and Simple Random sampling will be used to determine the target 30 respondents of the study.

Research Instrument

The researchers used Open-ended questionnaires were distributed among the respondents,

this served as the primary source of data collection. After reading their responses and answers in

the questionnaire, a semi-structured interview was conducted in order to clarify some of the

statements they have wrote.

Data Gathering Procedure

Letter of permission to conduct the study will be given at the school’s admin.

Questionnaire will be distributed among the selected rice farmers in Mallig Plains. The

researchers will make sure to assist the respondents of the study to answer the questionnaire. The

researchers have assured the respondents that the study will be strictly conducted for academic

and that utmost confidentiality would be observed. The data to be used in this study was

anonymously and cannot therefore be traced back to individual.


Analysis of Data

 Descriptive analysis will be used to explain the demographic characteristics of

rice farmers. Means, frequencies and percentages will be used to facilitate the

discussion. Results of the study will be presented in tabular and graphical form.

 Multiple linear regression analysis shall be used to identify the significant factors

that affect the profitability of the rice farmers
