ALS Digitized Teaching-Learning Materials Writeshop

II. Rationale:

Alternative Learning System (ALS) mobile teachers play a crucial role in

providing education to out-of-school youth and adult learners in remote areas.
However, these teachers face unique challenges in teaching OSYA learners who
may come from different backgrounds and have varying learning needs. In addition,
mobile teachers may also struggle with the limited resources and access to
technology that they have in these areas.

To address these challenges, this writeshop on ALS Digitized Teaching-

Learning Materials Writeshop aims to provide ALS mobile teachers in Mati South
District with innovative teaching tools and methods that can make learning more
engaging and effective for their learners. The training-workshop will introduce ALS
Digitized Teaching-Learning strategies such as project-based, collaborative, and
problem-based learning, as well as provide an overview of technology integration in
teaching. The workshop will also enhance the teachers' skills in using technology to
create engaging and interactive learning materials for their learners.

By providing ALS mobile teachers with the knowledge and skills to integrate
mobile teaching strategies and technology in their teaching, this training-workshop
seeks to improve the quality of education that is provided to out-of-school youth and
adult learners in Mati South District. The training-workshop is also aligned with the
Department of Education's thrust towards the integration of ICT in education, which
can help bridge the digital divide and provide equal opportunities for learners in
different parts of the country.
