I. RATIONALE:
The Loay Elementary School is set to embark on a numeracy program/initiative that aims to set in motion a
collaborative action to promote better numeracy and mathematics achievement for our learners.
A. (Title of Activity)
Training Workshop on Techniques and Strategies in Teaching Mathematics
Math teachers have a nuanced job. They must teach the building blocks of math, such as number
sense and operational skills, as well as boost pupils’ ability to think about problems. They need to
incorporate aspects of language, including reading and writing, into their subject and provide direct
instruction on methods of exploration. Additionally, math teachers must motivate pupils to try and
teach them to persevere when problems are challenging.
Through this activity, teachers will be able to equipped with knowledge and skills on techniques and
strategies in teaching mathematics. After going through the training workshop participants will be

This 4-hour training aims to provide appropriate knowledge, skills, and attitude for the
participants to be able to:
1. Discuss the different techniques and strategies in teaching mathematics.
2. Identify the different techniques and strategies in teaching mathematics that can help learners
who are struggling in numeracy.
3. Craft learning activity sheets or instructional materials that can be of help in the delivery of
mathematics education.
