Project S.W.E.E.P (Solid Waste Education and Environmental Protection)

Activity Design
“An Annual Community Service Project of Youth for Environment in Schools
Organization (YES-O)-Officers”

I. RATIONALE:

Solid waste management remains an ongoing challenge in the Philippines, often

attributed to a lack of information dissemination regarding proper waste disposal
methods.

To tackle this issue, the officers and members of the Youth for Environment in
School Organization (YES-O) at Badas National High School, along with other school club
officers, are actively promoting environmental awareness not only within the school but
also in the local community. Engaging young people in environmental campaigns and
initiatives fosters a sense of responsibility toward our environment.

Furthermore, YES-O is currently in the second year of implementing Project

SWEEP, which includes cleanup initiatives and the distribution of informative pamphlets
and posters. This project is designed to have a significant impact on the solid waste
management challenges within the community. By empowering individuals with the
knowledge and resources necessary to take action, we can collectively strive for a cleaner,
healthier, and more sustainable future for our community and the environment.

II. OBJECTIVES:

1. To implement Project SWEEP, which involves clean-up drives and the distribution
of pamphlets and posters.
2. To encourage the active involvement of youth in environmental campaigns and
programs.
3. To empower the community with the knowledge and work towards cleaner,
healthier, and more sustainable.
