Active Membership Requirements for Spring Quarter:

● 1 Health/Special Site OR 2 fundraiser shifts


● Quarterly Health Fair
● Half of the quarter’s general meetings (3 this quarter)
Committee membership could substitute for the Health Site OR Health
Fair requirement, BUT only if you tried but were unable to get a spot at a
HS or HF!

VCH’s service population
● Educating volunteers to better address the needs of
patients

● Cultural responsiveness presentations and case study

● Focusing on culturally relevant topics such as Eastern
vs Western medicine, typical taboos, mental health,
and how to properly address these issues

Hypertension

Must be certified by American Heart Association (AHA) to perform hypertension


screenings at our Health Sites and Health Fair

Spring Hypertension Training Session Dates:


● Week 4 Friday (4/28) 6-8PM
● Week 8 Friday (5/26) 6-8 PM

Location: Neuroscience Research Building 132

Hypertension certification lasts for 2 years, after which you must be recertified.
