Thank you to all of our volunteers and providers for all
your help last quarter! We are extremely grateful to
everyone as our Health Fair could not have been as
successful as it was without our collaborators and
providers. Thank you to: UCLA Vietnamese Dental Student
Association, Healing Hands for Humanity, Magnolia
Medical Imaging Center, CSULB Nursing Student
Association, Dr. James Tran, Dr. Khanh Bao Nguyen, Dr.
Thomas Quach, Western University Lions Club, Western
University Vietnamese Student Association, ADOC Medical
Group, Grounded Connections Counseling, Team HBV,
Southland Health Center, and Stroke Force at UCLA.

Spring 2022 Health Fair at Westminster Rose Center

For our Spring Health Fair, our 70 volunteers were pleased to serve over 220 patients. Through our
collaborations with providers, VCH was able to provide screenings such as vision, cholesterol,
hemoglobin and many more services to help alleviate some of the health disparities within the
Vietnamese and Hispanic communities. We would not have been able to achieve this level of
success without the support of our providers and compassion of our volunteers.

respective missions and to bond over ice cream.
 Committee Highlights
We encourage VCH volunteers to get involved by contributing their ideas in our committees! Every quarter,
the committees educate the community and improve the patient experience through a variety of projects.

Language Development Nutrition

Language Development completed and
proofread translations for Patient
Outreach newsletters & infographics,
PEW flashcards, and Nutrition video
scripts.
This quarter, Nutrition worked on 4
different health recipes and created a
video educating patients on healthy
cooking tips.

Patient Outreach Navigators

Patient Outreach contacted our patients
about VCH’s Spring 2022 Health Fair.
They also created a newsletter about
different types of masks and made
infographics about our Health Fair.
Navigators worked hard this quarter to
learn the services and layout of
our Health Fair and to help patients
navigate through the fair in order to
optimize patient experience.

Patient Education & Wellness

(PEW)
PEW members worked on informational
flashcards about topics such as
cholesterol, hypertension, dental care,
and more. These were distributed at our
Health Fair. They also created PEW fun
facts to be included in emails.
