Thank you to all of our volunteers and providers for all your
help last quarter! We are extremely grateful to everyone as our
first Virtual Health Fair could not have been as successful as it
was without our collaborators and providers. Thank you to: Dr.
James Tran, Dr. Quan Nguyen, Dr. Tan Nguyen, Dr. Theresa
Thanh Nguyen, Dr. Nancy Hieu Nguyen, Ms. Angie Nguyen, and
Ms. Candy Bui.
Fall 2020 Virtual Health Fair
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, our quarterly Health Fair
moved online via the VSee TeleHealth platform. We were
pleased to serve over 30 patients and create health resources
for our online community. Through our collaborations with
providers, VCH provided free virtual consultations and health
education in general care, cardiology, mental health, and
dermatology to help alleviate some of the health disparities
within the Vietnamese and Hispanic communities.

Despite the online quarter, VCH kept Volunteers worked in VCH

in high spirits by hosting general
meetings and socials on Zoom.
Volunteers had the opportunity to
learn (UCLA 101, Committee
Presentations, etc.) and support each
other virtually (Mentorship, Discord)
during these unprecedented times.

VCH x AIM Collab

Zoom
VCH collaborated with AIM at UCLA
(Advocating Intersectional Medicine) to
prepare a presentation on the impact
of race and social determinants on
health outcomes. We discussed how to
advocate for equitable and culturally
responsive health care.
 Committee Highlights
We encourage VCH volunteers to get involved by contributing their ideas in our committees! Every quarter
the committees educate the community and contribute to virtual Health Fair through a variety of projects.
Language Development
To overcome language barriers between
providers and patients, Language
Development translated patient guides
and pamphlets into Vietnamese and
Spanish for Fall Virtual Health Fair.
Patient Outreach
Patient Outreach worked to foster
stronger relationships and find ways to
best serve patients by personally calling
patients about VCH events and analyzing
patient demographics..
Nutrition
Nutrition created infographics to
educate patients on immune-boosting
foods, recommended serving sizes of
Vietnamese dishes, benefits of
meditation, and exercise tips.
Navigators
Navigators improved the patient
experience at our Virtual Health Fair by
creating patient guides and compiling
frequently asked questions about the
new telehealth platform, VSee.
Patient Education & Wellness
(PEW)
Focusing on the holistic health of
patients and fostering cultural
responsiveness, PEW created
infographics on common conditions
and health topics such as Alzheimer’s
Disease, Arthritis, Stroke, and how to
stay active during the pandemic.
