Hi, I’m Indriani, and in this monologue video, I will be exploring the benefits and

risks of group work in the classroom.

Like anything else, studying in groups can be a good and bad thing.
Here are the benefits and risk of group work in classroom.
The benefits:
1. Regularity
If the student has to do self-study, it’s likely that he will postpone it to some
other time just doe to laziness.
In such a situation, a student who doesn’t like studying will not study property.
But in the case of group study, regularity is maintained.
2. Always Up-to-Date
If there is a free discussion, it can insrease student is general knowledge about
current affairs.
3. Develops Communication Skills
Group work develops communication skills in student.
If student work on their weaknesses, they can become good communicators.
The risk:
1. Distraction
You can’t manage a peaceful environment for study with full consentration.
If someone likes being alone, group work is such a chellenge for that student
2. You may become dependent
In groups, tasks are devided into group members.
If someone fails to prepare or he may weak in the study, then other members help.
Such student becomes dependent on others.
3. Learning speed defference
Some students are quick and efficient in learning.
If a student is fast in learning but has to follow the groupe routine. And if the group
is flow is fast, it’s problematic for weaker students.

Group work is a cooperative learning among student throught communication,

task, and knowledge.
If student work on their weaknesses. They will become good communicators.
If there is challenging task assigned. Teamwork won’t feel boring.
If there is a free discussion, it will increase student is general knowledge about
current affairs.
