The previous Addis SP has many challenges in many land use areas but the main challenges
that are caused for many problems are changing the land use of residence to commercial
and compatibility issues.
The previous ADDIS SP challenge is changing the land use of residence to commerce this
has brought many problems even though it has some advantageous in a city where much of
the commercial facility are not available its an opportunity to have working and living
environment it also good in create vibrant street life for the residence because most of the
commercial activity are placed beside the streets but it also many disadvantageous like
traffic congestion caused by congestion of people on streets,
it’s a residential area so it needs to be safe and clear from noice air and environmental
pollution
The second challenge is the compatibility issue placing industries beside residential zones
As I mentioned above the residence is needs a place that are quite and free from any
pollution that one is chosen by many residents but the previous Addis SP has this problem of
compatibility.
We know that even small scale industries has huge amount of waste that pollute the
environment(air noice )and affect the residence healthe and peace
The second adis SP try to learn expriances and solve by detailed and studied way that makes
the new ADDIS SP better than the previous
But also the second one ha also weakness in some areas like recreational and granary it
doesn’t give emphasis to these to issues that is one among weakness from Addis NEW SP
THE SECOND weakness of new addis sp is it doesn’t give detailed explanation to the issues
stated by the manual like it doesn’t provide data on the residence, data on the recreational
and grenary activities, analysis on urban agriculture and informal greenery
The chencha SP – chencha is a small town and expecting to fullfill the all the manual idea is
worthless but at least it has to be fulfil some points from the manual aer expected
As many urban centre s in the country chencha has poor land use practices all are the
chencha land use problems are linked with the planning issues like slum older commercial
and residential are which are slum, large and in accessible streets by large blooks, lack of
necessary marketing facilities such as storage infrastructures Even the bigger market areas
lack the standard infrastructure which facilitates the linkage among urban and rural areas.
the sp of chench dosent full fill the standards setd by the federal berue and as the Addis SP
the chencha SP HAS Also doesn’t give enough detailed explanation on the data on the
residence recreational and greenary and special function of the area one good thing that we
found from chencha sp that it gives emphasis on the envirometal problem of the area which is
coused by the human intervatin( for farming) like sever sioile erosion and environmental
degradation and 2025 dependenig on the swot analiyssi it sets by 2025 goals ,vision
strategies and objectives totackle these problrms and creat environmental, socialy and
economicaly sustainable place for the community better life
