6-1 Inspection - Trim System, Rear Structure

E. Procedure:

(1) Remove cover (5, Figure 601) in order to accomplish the inspection. To do so, open
quick-release fasteners (6).

(2) Remove attachment hardware (1, 2, 3) and trim weights (4).

(3) Inspect fuselage-attached part of the trim system and removed components for scratches,
nicks, cracks, corrosion, delamination and loose or missing rivets.

(a) Replace loose or missing rivets.

(b) If damage is evident, repair:

1 fuselage-attached part

2 laminate

contact ECD customer service or your local ECD representative, if necessary.

NOTE Depending on the helicopter’s equipment configuration the number of the


trim weights (max. 5) must be determined individually.

(4) Attach trim weights (4) using attachment hardware (2, 3). Tightening torque: 17-23 Nm
(151-203 lb.in). Then secure them by means of a circlip (1).

(5) Fit cover (5) and attach with screws (6).
