Nowadays, technology has become more and more developed, so people has created many ways
to help students to learn wherever they are. Moreover, online learing through zoom and
classroom learning are popular in the world. Although two methods may differ significantly,
they also have a lot of similarities.
On the one hand, there are significant differences between e-learning and learning in classroom
in interactions and time management. The interactions in traditional education are more effective
than in online classes. In the face-to-face class, students can ask intructors if they do not
understand and intructors can give them feedback immediately or can fix their mistakes.
Moreover, students would be able to understand and keep up with the lecture easily if the teacher
gave a direct explanation. However, in online classes, students may have difficulties, when
teachers ask questions or possibly interrupt because teachers or students experience network or
device issues.
A key difference between online learning by zoom and face-to-face learning is time
management. When students choose to study in online, they can be more flexible than in
traditional education. With online classes, students could choose a suitable time to participate in
the class. However, traditional learning makes the students more difficult to study because of the
rigid schedules in colleges and universities, so the students have to arrange their time a suitable
way to follow the class. Another important difference is cost. While students can pay a small
amount of money to an online class and they can study in anytime and anywhere they want, the
cost for studying in classroom is more expensive than online classes.
On the other hand, there are still similariies between two methods. Firstly, the role of the teacher
in both online learning and traditional learning is the same. The teachers will be a person who
will provide students knowlege and instruct them when they do not understand the lectures.
Secondly, both online learning and studying in class have the same classes' activities, because
teachers can give them assignments which have deadlines to submit. Besides, after students can
also recieve feedbacks of assigments which they have submitted from teachers. Finally, online
education is similar to traditional education in instructional techniques. Both teachers and
students must adopt new roles in the teaching-learning relationship, and instructors will be
willing to give control of the learning process to the students.
In conclusion, there are a number of differences between online learning by zoom and classroom
such as learning in interactions, time management, and cost. However, the similarities in role of
teachers, classes's activities, and instructional methods can be ignored.
