General Instructions for all “In the News” Assignments

For each “In the News” assignment, students will be assigned an article to review followed by some instructions regarding how to
specifically analyze the article. Each submission must contain at least two references to substantiate the responses provided. One
of the references must be the course textbook. Remember references should be accompanied by their corresponding citations
in the body of the writing. When inserting references and their corresponding citations, students should follow APA format.
All submissions must be in MS PowerPoint, Google Slides, or Prezi format, and there must be a minimum of 8 slides. Of the 7, there
will be one cover slide (at the beginning), and one reference slide (at the end).
*Note all work will be compared to assure no “cheating” has occurred. The comparison is not limited to this particular course,
but submissions from past semesters and other courses too. Any submissions that are not original will be awarded zero credit,
and FIU’s leadership will be notified of the incident.
