Guidelines/Tips for CXC Spanish Paper 2

Directed Situations  Read EACH directed situation carefully and identify the tense or tenses in
which your responses will be on
 Only one sentences is required
 Check your grammar and spelling before moving on to the next page
Letter writing  Always start by reading carefully the scenario given and based on the cues
you should identify the tense or tenses in which your letter will be on
 Remember to add the person’s address, the country, you should have your
opening paragraph stating purpose of writing, greeting the person and your
closing paragraph wishing well to the person, no real name neither real
date, no real address no ENGLISH
 Pay attention to your paragraphing, your letter should be writing in different
paragraphs and not a long straight paragraph.
 Pay attention to your grammar and spelling
 Brainstorm for possible vocabulary based on the scenario given
 Remember your word limit, starting counting your words after dear whoever
Contextual Dialogue  Read the instruction and scenario first CAREFULLY
 Read each line of the person first twice for better understanding
 Before filling out your space, read the line of the person on top and below
 Pay attention to any question marks
 Check your word limit, if it is less based on the required amount, add
more somewhere or if you have more remove some words
 PAY ATTENTION TO YOUR TENSES. YOU SHOULD IDENTIFY IN
WHICH TENSE(S) YOUR DIAOGUE WILL BE ON BASED ON THE
INSTRUCTIONS
 When finish read over, the dialogue should run smoothly
Reading comprehension  Use a pencil to highlights possible answers while reading after looking at the
questions, multitask, read and look at the questions repeatedly, try to answer
in full sentence as much as possible.
 Read the instructions and questions first before reading the passage, when
answering the first question, make sure that whatever paragraph the answer is,
there will be no other answers for other questions, then move on to the next
paragraph and do so until you finish
 Read the title, it should give you an idea of what the passage will be on
