Specific Learning Outcomes: After viewing video, students will:
Day1
1. State the six elements of a short story
2. Identify at least four of the six elements of literature
3. Define all six elements in one sentence for each.
4. Differentiate amongst all six elements orally.
5. Complete a graphic organizer correctly identifying each element.

Procedures/Activities: Day 1- Objectives:1-5

STEP 1: NTRODUCTION/ENGAGEMENT:
Students will be asked specific questions about their favourite movie/cartoon. Teacher will then use the
student selector in Google classroom to identify the specific students who should answer the questions
posed. Teacher will also check the platform to see which student has raised his/her hand and allow the
student to share.
Questions :
1. What is the name of your favourite movie/cartoon?
2. Where did it take place?
3. List three persons in the movie?
4. What was the problem in the movie?
5. What was the main idea?

STEP 2:
Students will click the link to a video on the elements of a short story. After viewing, a discussion will be
ensued where students, facilitated by teacher, will correctly identify the element for the responses given.
Example. What are the names of three persons in the movie? – Characters

STEP 3:
After viewing a PowerPoint presentation, students will be required to create and share their definitions of
each element in no more than one sentence. Students will copy the information from the PowerPoint for
reference.

EVALUATION:
Students will complete assigned worksheet. They will be given twenty minutes to complete the task.
During this time, they will log off the platform and return when the allotted time has ended.
