Lesson idea implementation:
The teacher will start the lesson by going over the goal for the lesson and showing an example from
a previous group of students . The teacher will then assign each group a book to read which will e
assigned based on their reading level. The students will read the book and then make a storyboard
with the characters, setting and events in order to use for their movie . After the teacher comes and
checks to make sure the story board matches the story the students will then use supplies provided
to create the setting and characters for their movie . Each group will also be provided a I pad to use
to make the movie . While students are working the teacher will e moving around the room to check
on the group and answer any questions the students may have . The students will use the characters
and setting stuff they made to create a movie based on the story they read using the I pad. Once
student have made the video, they will send it to the teacher who will give them feedback on the
final part. They would have already received feedback on if they setting and characters and events
were correct with their story board. The lesson will end with the teacher asking the students what
they thought of the project and what was easy and what was hard about the project.

Managing student learning: Yes the students will be active learners as they in charge of how the
movie look and get to use their creativity in this lesson so they will be actively learning and
participating in this lesson at all times . Students will be required to show the teacher a sketch of
their ideas including the characters in the book and the setting and the events in order and make a
storyboard on a piece of paper so that the teacher knows they understood what they read and help
with anything that is wrong before they make the full movie .
Universal Design for Learning (UDL) Reflection: This activity and tools supports learning as it is
giving students freedom to show what they learned about in a different way. Students are able to
put whatever type of pictures or drawings into their movie and really get to make it their own while
also learning how to make the movie and working on the content skill of describing different parts
of a story .This lesson has both engagement and action and expression in it . The students are
engaged throughout the entire project as they are the ones who are making it and are the ones who
have to plan out the ideas so throughout the entire time they are working they are engaged. The
other UDL is action and expression . Students will get to express themselves throughout this activity
and are using multiple tools to create this piece not only with technology but with the characters
and setting and the storyboard which will be done on paper.
Reflection: This lesson will impact student learning as it gives students the freedom to design and
show what they read in a way they understand it . Students learn best when they get to show it in
different ways and with this lesson students will be able to take the basic information and get to
make a movie showing what they learned about in the way they want to. The part of the lesson I
look forward to the most is when students are creating the movie because it will be cool to see the
different types of movies the students come up with also see the collaboration between groups as
they work together and learn how to overcome obstacles .
