PROCEDURE
S
A. Reviewing
previous lesson
or presenting Everybody stand. Let’s pray the prayer before
the new lesson class!
Opening prayer

Thank you God for this new day.

In my school works and pray.
Please be with me all day long.
In every story, game and song.
May all the happy things we do,
Make you, or Father, happy too!
Amen.
Good morning Class!
“Good morning teacher, good morning
classmates, good morning.
You may now take your seats.

Thank you, Teacher

Who is absent today?

None Teacher
Very good!
I’m glad that all of you are present today. Give
yourself a yes clap.

123, 123 YES, YES, YES

Now, class listen we have our classroom rules.

1st Stay alert and focus to the lesson.

2nd Prepare your pen and paper.

3rd Sit back and relax.

Did you understand class?

Okay. Again what are the classroom rules?

(The student will answer)

Our three classroom rules are:

1. Stay alert and focus to the lesson.
Very good! 2. Prepare your pen and paper.
Are you ready class? 3. Sit back and relax

Let me see if the grade 5 pupils are ready?

Sit properly, raise your two hands and shake. Yes, teacher!

Before we start our discussion, who among

you can still remember our previous lesson?
(pupils will follow)

Okay it’s all about interaction of light with

different materials.
Who among can give an example of primary
source of light? Interaction of light with different materials
teacher.
Okay very good the primary source of lights is
sun.
Who among can give the object reflects by
light?
Sun teacher.
Very good! The object reflects by lights is
mirror.

I’m happy that you really understand the

lesson that we tackled yesterday.
Mirror teacher.
B. Establishing I have here a game that we called 4PICS ONE

examples/instan
ces of the new
lesson

What objects use electricity Renz?

Very good! What else James? Telivision teacher.

Very good! This is some appliances that we

need electricity. Lights teacher.

But, how does electricity flow to your

appliances.

D. Discussing
new concepts & Simple Circuit
practicing new A simple circuit is a closed loop of a
skill #1 conductor that electrons can travel
around, usually consisting of a power
source (a battery, for example) and an
electrical component or device (light
bulb) and conducting wire.

The Components of a Circuit

Battery – A battery is a source of electric
power consisting of one or more
electrochemical cell with external connections
for powering electrical devices.

Light Bulb – The light bulb works by sending

electricity through a curly tungsten filament.

Wires – The wire is simply a pathway for the

electrons to travel.

Switch – An electrical switch is any device

used to interrupt the flow of electron in a
circuit.
Again class what are the components of
electricity Roshell?

Source
Light bulb
Wires
Switch
Very good class!

Two types of Circuit

Closed Circuit
A closed circuit make the bulb light up
become the path of electricity is complete,
allowing the electricity to flow through it.

Open Circuit
Electricity does not flow in this kind of circuit
because there is a gap from one end of the
circuit to the end.

E. Discussing
new concepts & Now I have here a video for you to watch to
practicing skill understand more about the two types of
#2 electric circuit

(Presenting the video)

Did you understand the video class?

Yes, teacher.
Okay very good! What the video is all about?

It is all about how to make a circuits

teacher.
Very good! What else Van Mark?
The video shows the two different types of
circuits teacher

Very good the video shows on how to make

the circuits with two different types.

F. Developing
mastery/leads to Now that you have field of knowledge about
formative electric circuits I have here an activity for you
assessment to answer.

G. Finding
practical I have here an activity for you to answer.
applications of
concepts & Direction:
skills in daily
Write fact if the statement is
living correct or bluff if not.

1. Every day we use electricity in

our homes to power lights,
electric fans, television,
computers and more.
2. An open circuit is an incomplete
path or electricity.
3. Battery cannot give power to
devices like cell phone radio, and
flashlight.
4. In a closed circuit the path of
electricity is complete that allow
electricity to flow through it.
5. A circuit is incomplete if the
electricity flows through the light
bulb and works properly.
H. Making
Generalization Again class what do we call to a simply a
& abstractions pathway for the electrons to travel.
about the lesson
Wire teacher.
Yes, very good! It is a wire.
What do we call to works by sending
electricity through a curly tungsten filament?
Renan?
Light bulb teacher.

Very good! I am happy that you are really

understand the four components of a circuit.

What about to circuit make the bulb light up

become the path of electricity is complete,
allowing the electricity to flow through it? That what we called Close circuit teacher.

Very good! What do we call to Electricity does

not flow in this kind of circuit because there is
a gap from one end of the circuit to the end? That what we called Open circuits teacher.

Very good class! I know that you are really

understand the lesson.

IV. Directions: Write the letter of the correct

EVALUATING answer on your paper.
LEARNING
1. What makes the bulb light up?
