DR RAUDLOTUL FIRDAUS FATAH YASIN
WITH ADVICE AND GUIDES FROM BR YUSUF KARA FROM RISALAH NUR
INTRODUCTION
TO MAN’S
NATURE
Man is by his innate nature very weak, and all
things bother him, affect him, and hurt him.
He is deeply powerless, and he has a very great
number of tribulations and enemies.
He is very poor, and he has such a huge
Man’s Nature number of needs, and he is lazy and incapable,
although the burdens of his life are heavy
indeed.

9th word
His humanness has given him a bond to the
universe, despite the fact that the evanescence
(kesementaraan) of the things that he loves
and finds friendship in and his inevitable
separation from them continually hurts and
troubles him.
Man’s Nature Intellect shows him high ambitions and lasting
fruits. Yet his reach is short, his lifespan is
short, his capacities are slight, and he is of
short patience.
Man’s Nature
The spirit of such a character needs
to present its state at the court of
the Almighty and the
Compassionate, knocking on His
door through Solat.
IHSAN
1. Verified Faith (Iman Al-Tahqiqi)
When someone believes in Allah strongly, he reflects on the fact that the Compassionate Creator
is present and watching, and does not seek for the attention of other than Him, and he thinks
that turning to other than Him and seeking help from other than Him is at odds with proper
courtesy towards that status of Ihsan.
2. Ikhlas
Because of the pressures of people, we may forget Allah and start acting to please them.

Yet, Allāh’s pleasure must be at the basis of our deeds. If He is pleased, the shunning of the
entire world is of no importance.
3. Following the Sunnah
To follow the sunnah recalls the Noble Messenger (SAW) directly, and such recollection is
transformed into recollection of the divine presence (ihsan), even though the observance of
sunnah in eating, drinking or sleeping.
4. Solat
“Solat is the mi’raj of a believer”
(Hadith)
The doa of “Attahiyyatu..” is the
conversation between Allah (SWT),
Prophet Muhammad (SAW), Gabriel
(AS) and malaikah. While reciting
this doa at the solat, we can recall
that conversation and again we can
feel that we are at the presence of
Allah.

Umar ibn al-Khattab reported: We were sitting with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, one day
when a man appeared with very white clothes and very black hair. There were no signs of travel on him and we did not
recognize him. He sat down in front of the Prophet and rested his knees by his knees and placed his hands on his thighs.
The man said, “O Muhammad, tell me about Islam.” The Prophet said, “Islam is to testify there is no God but Allah and
Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, to establish prayer, to give charity, to fast the month of Ramadan, and to
perform pilgrimage to the House if a way is possible.” The man said, “You have spoken truthfully.” We were surprised
that he asked him and said he was truthful. He said, “Tell me about faith.” The Prophet said, “Faith is to believe in
Allah, his angels, his books, his messengers, the Last Day, and to believe in providence, its good and its evil.” The man
said, “You have spoken truthfully. Tell me about excellence.” The Prophet said, “Excellence is to worship Allah as if you
see him, for if you do not see him, he surely sees you.” The man said, “Tell me about the final hour.” The Prophet said,
“The one asked does not know more than the one asking.” The man said, “Tell me about its signs.” The Prophet said,
“The slave girl will give birth to her mistress and you will see barefoot, naked, and dependent shepherds compete in
the construction of tall buildings.” Then, the man returned and I remained. The Prophet said to me, “O Umar, do you
know who he was?” I said, “Allah and his messenger know best.” The Prophet said, “Verily, he was Gabriel who came
to teach you your religion.”

APPRECIATION
FOR THE
NATURE AND
ENVIRONMENT
The Words/The First Word (erisale.com)

Bismillah…
First Word from Risale el-Nur:
“The very minutest, particle-like seeds and stones bear gigantic
trees above their heads, and hold up mountainous burdens! Thus
do all trees say, ' ‫بسم هللا‬In the name of Allah!' and fill their hands
with fruits from the treasury of mercy. They present these fruits
to us, just as a street vendor displays his goods! Every garden
says, ' ‫بسم هللا‬In the name of Allah' and becomes one of the
cauldrons of the kitchen of Divine Power in which diverse types
of delectable foods are together cooked in abundance. Every
single blessed animal, like the cow, the camel, the sheep, and
the goat, say ' ‫بسم هللا‬In the name of Allah'. Thereby do they
become springs of milk from the outpouring of Divine mercy,
offering to us, in the name of the Provider, a most fine and pure
food, like unto life-giving water. The slender, pliant and silk-like
roots and rootlets of every single plant, tree and herb, say ‫بسم هللا‬
'In the name of Allah'. Thereby do they pierce hard rock and
earth, whence they then emerge”.
“Mentioning the name
of God, the name of
the Most Merciful,
everything becomes
subjected to them.
Consider the perfect ease in which roots
spread through hard rock and dry earth.
Under the earth, they give fruit just as
easily as branches are able to spread in the
air and produce fruit. The way green
leaves, fine and delicate, stay moist for
months despite the blight of extreme heat!
All of this constitutes a real slap in the
mouth for the naturalists, and pokes a
finger into their eyes - may they be blinded
- saying all the while, 'even hardness and
heat, upon which you so much rely, act
through a Divine Command - for these
rootlets, though delicate and silk-like,
break apart rocks - thereby obeying, like
the staff of Moses, peace be upon him, the
Divine Command, ‫صاكَ ال َح َجر‬ َ َ‫إِض ِْرب بِع‬Strike
the rock with your staff Leaves, as fine as
cigarette-papers, recite the verse ‫َار ُكونِي‬ ُ ‫َيا ن‬
‫س ََل ًما‬ ‫و‬ ‫ًا‬
‫د‬
َ َ َْ ‫ر‬ ‫ب‬ Oh Fire! Be coolness and peace to
the burning heat, just as did the limbs of
Ibrahim, upon whom be peace.
“All things implicitly say ' ‫بسم هللا‬In the name of Allah', and
attract thereby the blessings of Allah. When they
present them to us, it is also in Allah's name. It is then
surely incumbent upon us too to say ' ‫بسم هللا‬In the name of
Allah'. We must give in the name of Allah, and we must
take in the name of Allah - and we must not, therefore,
take from the type of heedless people who do not give in
the name of Allah”.
