Objective:
Purpose of this drill to orient workers to prepare themselves in emergency situation and safe
evacuation.
Proceedings:
Emergency drill was start at 2:30 pm with the sound of fire alarm in whole factory. All the
company workers ran quickly towards assigned assembly area after hearing the fire alarm. They
are motivated to evacuate the company building almost in 120 seconds.
It is communicated to workers that they should know their emergency evacuation plan. There
needs to be at least two ways to get out of a building, in case of the them is blocked by fire.
There must always be a clear path to each exit.
Make sure all escape routes are clearly marked so those who are trying to escape the building
have no problem finding where they need to go during a stressful situation.
When it comes to those escape options, it is vital to make sure the doors are unlocked when there
are employees or visitors in the building. You don’t want employees to go to what they think is a
way to get out of a building safely and to be stuck inside because the door has been chained or
looked.
Never wedge fire doors open as they are designed to protect escapes routes and prevent the
spread of toxic smoke and fumes. As fire need oxygen to survive, a fresh feed of air through
wedged open fire doors may only lead to building the fire hazard.
Always have an evacuation plan in place and let employees know where they should go outside
the building once, they are safe. Put together a plan that makes sure that everyone checks in with
someone, so you know that all employees and visitors are accounted for and have escaped safely
and are not trapped inside.
1. Remain calm.
2. Stop whatever you are doing, leave the building immediately via the closed escape route.
3. Never use the lift in the case of emergency evacuation.
4. Walk briskly, and never turn back.
5. Never take anything with you.
6. Always follow the floor map/Evacuation floor map instructions.
7. As you leave, shut down machinery or process equipment according to your company’s
emergency plan.
