Sentence structure
Noun= Words that give names of person, thing, place,
etc.

E.g. =Ali, Peter, Flower, Cat, Russia, Earth, Sun, Moon, etc.

Pronouns= Words that are used in place of a noun.

E.g. = I, We, You, He, She, It, They, Each, Few, Many, Who, Whoever, Whose, Someone,
Everybody, etc.

Everyone (pronoun) comes in the class.

Khalid (noun) lives in Syria. He (pronoun) works there.

Verb= Words that show an activity (Action words)

E.g. = play, walk, talk, drink, call, read, cook, open, shut, swim, etc.

Someone (pronoun) walks (verb) in the park.

The students (pronoun) read (verb) the novel.

They (Pronoun) drink (verb) tea.

Adjective= Words that modifies/adds/increases the information about the noun.

E.g. = happy, sad, ill, healthy, tall, small, beautiful, nice, sweet, adorable, etc.

A happy (adjective) boy (noun) plays.

I (pronoun) live (verb) in a small (adjective) town.

It (pronoun) is (helping verb) a beautiful (adjective) wall (noun).

She (pronoun) visited (verb) a huge (adjective) mosque (noun).

Q. Find the Pronoun, verb, adjective, noun in the following sentence.

1. They (pronoun) found (verb) a cute (adjective) dog (noun).


2. Tom (noun) was (helping verb) a good (adjective) boy (noun).
3. The book (noun) was (verb) thick (adjective).
4. The people (noun) go (verb).
