LESSON PLAN IN ORAL COMMUNICATION

I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson the students should be able to:
a. Determine the process of communication;
b. Appraise the importance of proper communication; and
c. Demonstrate the process of communication actively in group
activities.

(3 Minute Activity)

Directions:
1. Group yourself into 2 groups.
2. Assigned a leader to get the strip of paper inside the box.
3. Whisper the given paragraph to your classmate in the front until
it reaches the first person in the line.
4. Write the accurate sentences on the board. The group that will
finish first in 3 min. will have 5 points in quiz.

Question: In relation to our activity. What is our topic for today?

A. ACTIVITY
“Listen and Draw”

Directions:
 Divide the class into two groups.
 Have the two groups choose a representative to draw or create an image
based on what will the teacher says.
 The group should select different representatives in each direction given
by the teacher.
 Each group will be graded from the given rubrics [Creativity (5);
Appropriateness (5)].
 Group 1 will rate the presentation of the Group 2 and vice versa to
encourage student to student interaction.
Task

1. Draw a medium-sized circle in the middle of your paper.


2. Draw a medium-sized square below the circle but have the top of it
touch the bottom of the circle.
3. Draw a medium-sized heart in the square.
4. Draw two smaller rectangles, one on each side of the square. They
should go the wide way not the tall way and they should touch the
sides of the square. Also, the top of each rectangle should line up with
the top of the square.
5. Draw a medium-sized triangle above the circle. The bottom of the
triangle should touch the top of the circle.
6. Draw three small stars anywhere inside the triangle.
7. Draw a small triangle in the center of the medium-sized circle.
8. Draw an arc which curves up below the small triangle.
9. Draw two small circles above the small triangle, one slightly to the right
and one slightly to the left.
10. Write your group number above your drawing.
B. ANALYSIS

1. How did you find the activity in terms of connecting it to communication?


2. What do you think is the importance of the activity above in nurturing and
developing the communication skills of the students?

C. ABSTRACTION

D. APPLICATION
Guess the Emotion

1. Divide the group into two teams.


2. Put in a box a packet of cards, each of which has a particular emotion typed
on it.
3. Have a participant from Group A take the top card from the table and act out
(pantomime) the emotion for his/her group. This is to be done in a fixed time
limit (such as a minute or two).
4. If the emotion is guessed correctly by Group A, they receive one point.
5. Now have a participant from Group B act out an emotion; award points as
appropriate.
6. Rotate the acting opportunities between the two groups.
7. After 15 minutes of acting and guessing, call time and announce the winning
team based on its point total.

Instruction: On a ½ sheet of paper, explain the importance of delivering the proper


massage towards a certain person. Your answer must be composed of at least 50
words.
