1 SCOPE OF WORK
This method statement is intended for the disinfection of water distribution system and water
tanks of the OFW Hospital.

3 WORK METHODOLOGY
b) Prepare necessary materials and tools needed for the said activity.
e) Use pressure washer, brushes and rug to clean the inside of the
tank.
f) Refill and flush the tank continuously to free the tank from residual
dirt, germs, bacteria, etc.

h) Upon approval, refill the tank with water in preparation of the
Sodium Hypochlorite (NaOCl) Solution mixing.
d) After 16-hrs, flush the solution through the drain and rinse the tank
with water again.
b) Turn on the Transfer Pump to cleaning the piping system with water.
c) Inspect the farthest point of the pipeline and check if water has
already reached that point.

f) During the 16-hr period, occasionally check for leakage in the piping
system.
g) After 16-hrs, flush the solution to the nearest floor drain. Rinse the
piping system with water pumped by the transfer pump.

h) Conduct inspection and approval of disinfection result with TBDI
Field Engineer.

the overhead tank.
e) After 16-hrs, flush the solution through the drain and rinse the tank
with water again.
b) Take a 3-point water sample from the system. (1st point – Cistern
Tank; 2nd point – Middle part of piping system; 3rd point – farthest
point of piping system.)
d) Check and review the laboratory results. If the samples passed the
laboratory test, the system is good to operate.

7 RESPONSIBILITIES
8.1 SubCon PIC – Routes the Work Request (WAP) part to different trades and ensure to
complete the signatures of the related trade. To Conducts progress work inspection and testing
at project site.
8.2 SubCon SO – To ensure that workers are equipped with complete PPE’s and with safe
working environment. To orient workers with safety precautions.
8.4 TBDI FE – Review work activity and coordinate conflict with the other trades (if any).
Ensure WAP has been routed and signed by all related trades. To Check and Inspect the quality
of work based on the approved ITP and Inspection checklist. Ensures acceptable Quality of
work.
8.5 TBDI PS – To verify the completeness and quality of work done and recommends the
approval of the work activity.
8.6 TBDI PIC – To ensure all quality control requirements are compiled and approved the
submitted Work Request (WR).
