Adding comments
You can use relative clauses with which to comment on your own and other people's statements.
I don't usually watch video clips, which is unusual, I guess.

B  Which is stupid, I know.

You know what . . . ?

You can use You know what . . . ? to introduce a comment on what you are going to say.
You know what's amazing?
You know what gets me?
You know what I don't like?

Q What kinds of video clips do you tend to watch?

A To be honest, I don’t really watch video clips online that much, which is probably unusual for
someone my age, but I find they're a waste of time.
Q Do you ever watch video debates on news sites?
A Sometimes I watch news segments like on a news website. But I don’t watch debates.
Q Do you ever upload your own videos online?
A I upload all the videos that I take, but I don’t share them online. I like to edit them and then
show them to my family on my computer.
Q Do you email video clips to your friends all the time?
A I don’t tend to share video clips. I mean, very occasionally if there is something that is really
funny, then maybe I’ll send that.

someone my age. But I find they're a waste of time. What's amazing is that people will email you
a clip and say, "Look at this. You won't believe it." And most of the time the clips are edited or
made up. They're not even real, which is so ridiculous."
Sample comment
"I watch a lot of video clips online, but I wish I didn't. I agree that they are a waste of time. I
often end up watching a lot when I'm supposed to be working, which is really bad. I don't even
like most of the ones people send me!"

You know what I like? I like watching music videos that are made for some of the hit songs.
Some of them are really creative. What's really neat is some of the story lines that they create.
They're really fun to watch.
You know what I hate? All those advertisements that come on before the videos. They can be
really annoying and are often longer than the video I want to watch.
You know what I think? I think online video clips are a waste of time. Most of them are of such
bad quality and just aren't funny. I don't understand why people watch so many of them.
You know what gets me? It's all the comments people leave under the video clips. Why are
people so negative? You don't have to watch the video if you don't want to.
You know what is really annoying? It's all the video clips people send me. If I watched every one
of them, I'd never get anything done. And then they get offended when I admit that I didn't watch
the video they sent.
You know what's fun? Making your own videos. All you need is a video recorder and a bit of
creativity and you can make a really good video that millions of people can watch.

In my opinion, most online videos are fun and entertaining. However, there are videos that have
inappropriate content, which are not good for children to see. It's clear that children shouldn't
watch videos like these, so it's important that parents should set up the parental controls on their
computers. What's disturbing is that many children access online content with no supervision at
all. On the other hand, there are videos that are interesting and fun to watch, or educational,
which is good. In the end, people can choose what they watch or don't watch.
Sample comment
As you say, one problem with online videos is the inappropriate content. It's definitely important
that parents should monitor their children's use of the Internet. Sometimes music videos have
really bad language, which isn't good. You know what I think? I think music companies
shouldn't be allowed to make videos with bad language.
