1. Title: Overcoming Reading Difficulties of Grade 7 students
through R.I.S.E (Reading Intervention and Support Enhancement) of Rizal National School of Arts and Trades
Statement of the Problem:
This study aims to determine the Effectiveness of the
reading intervention containing various reading exercise in Project R.I.S.E.
To achieve the study purposes, there are three research
questions were formulated.
1 . What are the reading difficulties of the Grade 7 students
based on the result of the Phil- IRI test? 2 . Is there a significant difference between the Phil-Iri pretest and post Test Scores on the Students’ reading performance? 3 . Is the reading intervention project effective to improve the reading performance of the Grade 7 students?
2. Title: "Improving Reading fluency in English of Grade 9
students through voice recorded passages of Rizal National School of Arts and Trades”
Statement of the Problem: The research aims to identify the factors contributing to poor reading English performance among pupils at Luquilu Elementary School. Specifically, it seeks to answer the following sub- problems: 1. What is the fluency reading English performance of the grade 9 students of Rizal National School of Arts and Trades? 2. What is the fluency reading performance of the grade 9 controlled group in English after the use of audio recorded reading passages? 3. What is the pre-test and post-test results of the of the fluency reading of the grade 9 experimental group in English? 4. Is there a significant difference in the pre-test and post- test results of the fluency reading performance of the grade 9 controlled and experimental group?

Statement of the Problem
This study aims to explore the factors affecting the reading
comprehension of Grade 7 Learners at Rizal National School of Arts and Trades.
Specifically, it seeks to answer the following questions:
1. What is the level of comprehension of participants?
2. To what extent do the factors affect the reading comprehension of the learners in terms of:
2.1 home-related factor;
2.1.1 parents’ educational attainment;
2.1.2 parents’ occupation;
2.1.3 number of siblings;
2.2 teacher-related factor;
2.2.1 teachers’ educational attainment;
2.2.2 teachers’ relevant training and seminar;
2.2.3 teaching strategy;
2.3 learner-related factor;
2.3.1 prior knowledge;
2.3.2 understanding;
2.3.3 motivation;
2.4 number of learners;
2.5 textbooks-learner ratio; and
2.6 reading selections give every week?
3. Are there significant relationships between the identified
factors and the reading comprehension of the learners? 4. What intervention plan can be proposed to improve the reading comprehension of the learners?
