DAILY LESSON PLAN IN GRADE 8 MATHEMATICS

QUARTER III, SY 2022-2023
Week 6 – April 3-5, 2023
Day 1

I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standards The learner demonstrates understanding of key concepts of axiomatic structure
of geometry and triangle congruence.
B. Performance Standards The learner is able to:
1. Formulate an organized plan to handle a real-life situation.
Communicate mathematical thinking with coherence and clarity in formulating,
investigating, analyzing, and solving real-life problems involving congruent
triangles using appropriate and accurate representations.
C. Learning Competencies Proves two triangles are congruent. (M8GE-IIIg-1)
D. Objectives At the end of the lesson the learners are expected to:
a. Recall the conditions to show congruence of triangles.
b. Prove that the triangles are congruent by SAA congruence postulate.
c. Show active participation in class discussion.
II. CONTENT
Content Proving Triangle Congruence using the SAA congruence postulate

A. Reference/s 1. Mathematics – Grade 8 Alternative Delivery Mode First edition 2020

Pages 7 to 8
B. Other Learning Resources/ Visual Aids, YouTube
Materials
III. PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing Previous Lesson Review: Last meeting we proved that we could use the SSS congruence
or Presenting the New Lesson postulate to prove that the given triangles are congruent. Today we will
proceed on proving that two triangles are congruent using the SAA congruence
postulate.
B. Establishing a Purpose for The purpose of this lesson is to prove that the given triangles are congruent by
the Lesson using the SAA congruence postulate.

C. Presenting Examples/ Example #1:

Instances of New Lesson

D. Discussing New Concepts Example #1

and Practicing New Skills

E. Developing Mastery Board work: Determine whether the given triangle is congruent by using the
SAA congruence postulate. If it is not possible to prove that they are congruent,
say it is not possible.

F. Finding Practical Applications How will you apply the proofs of SAA congruence postulate when you’re dealing
of Concept and Skills in Daily with problems regarding triangles in the future?
Living
G. Making Generalizations a. What have you learned from the topic that has been discussed?
about the Lesson b. Can prove that the given triangles are congruent using the SAA
congruence postulate?
H. Evaluating Learning Let’s try!
Using the statements and reasons table, prove that the triangles below are
congruent.

I. Additional Activities for

Application or Remediation

J. Remarks
K. Reflection
A. No. of learners who earned 80% on
the formative assessment
B. No. of learners who requires
additional activities for remediation
C. Did the remedial lesson work? No.
of learners who have caught up
with the lesson
D. No. of learners who continue to
require remediation
E. Which of my teaching strategies
worked well? Why did these work?
F. What difficulties did I encounter
which my principal or supervisor
can help me solve?
G. What innovation or localized
materials did I used/ discover
which I wish to share with other
teachers?
