Questions:

1. What movement concepts do Delsarte, Diem and Laban have in common?


Francois Delsarte saw movement as a union of time, space and motion. For Liselott Diem, her focus
was more on developing an awareness and analysis of muscular force as well as how to move in time
and space. Meanwhile for Rudolf Laban, he identified four factors of movement namely, weight,
space, time and flow. Therefore, the three of them came up with two same movement concept
namely, time and space.

2. Why is having physical literacy essential when you are in your 20s? in your 40s?
It is essential to have physical literacy in our 20s for us to be more aware of the benefits that we
could get from doing physical activities. It helps in establishing strong motivation. It will also teach us
how to cope up with stress and become more self-disciplined. Establishing physical literacy at an
early age make our body more flexible to changes. When we reach our 40s, we can physically adapts
changes brought by aging easily. We will be more inclined in performing physical activities not
because we want to please other’s eyes but we want to live healthier.

3. What do you think of your foundational movement skills? How do you think you can maintain or improve
it?
I personally do have foundational movement skills, hip hinge is one of them. I can maintain this skill because I
am in charge of fetching a pail of water and I can use the hip hinge in doing such work. I also do some physical
activities to improve this skill.
