Warehouse Shutdown Checklist

Set up an shutdown Notice to the information Board/Email
Manager/supervisor should set up risk review/briefing prior to holiday schedule.
General housekeeping of desk/office and make sure files and other vital records are securely stored.
Turn off and unplug any fans/Aircon in your offices.
Lock desks and filing cabinets.
Put keys away (don’t leave them lying around, in open draws or in locks).
Take home valuable personal items.
Machine
Ensure that all forklift are clean before the shutdown
Ensure that all keys is surrendered and properly monitored
All forklift must be in proper/safe position(fork facing downward)
is the Forklift park in designated area?
No Charging on electric forklift during holiday.
Is the forklift battery station is unplug?(off Breaker)
Safety/Security
Ensure that there is security guard on duty during holidays .
Is the fire hydrant and cabinet hose is available and working?
Ensure that there is no damage of hydrant and cabinet hose
Is there available fire extiguisher?
Is the sprinkler and smoke alarm are working?
Is the CCTV working properly?
Ensure office Emergency Contact Lists is up to date and accurate.
Are office/forklift/truck keys secured in a locked container, especially master keys?
Is the Security Office aware of your status and of your key holiday contacts?

Building/warehouse
Is the warehouse doors and windows are locked?
Is there a strategic light to be open during holidays?
Is the external security lighting of buildings and public areas operating effectively?
Is there a need to cover product/or item to prevent it from dust accumulation?
Are the external areas of the buildings free of flammable items such as kerosene,gas,diesel.
Is the hazardous materials is secure and segregated?
Warehouse is free from entry point for any entruder?
Have trash racks and other gross pollutant traps been inspected and cleared of potential blockages?
Have critical sumps, gutters and stormwater drainage been inspected and cleared of potential blockages?
Have Contractors been engaged to perform critical building maintenance work during the shutdown period?
If so how will they be monitored and supervised?
General
Is there a list of skeletal manpower who will enter the warehouse?authorized personnel only will allow to enter.
Inform staff that they must advise Security (XXXX) when entering and leaving the building during the shutdown period.

Where appropriate leave reminders for staff/ who may come in during the holiday break (e.g. ‘switch off when leaving’).

Other issues specific to your work area? (If so what needs to done and by whom?)
Does holiday Security staff know alarm response procedures? Water leaks procedures, etc.
Do staff located overseas know of holiday emergency contact numbers, in the event assistance is required?
Have you considered the use of web cams to occasionally examine the office,warehouse, facility during the holiday break?

Is there is Manager/Supervisor contacts and duty officers contact details in case of emergency?
