The program is a convergence of the entire Municipality’s project for agriculture, health and nutrition. It
integrates all the community health projects related to environmental sanitation by focusing on solid waste
management at the household level and zero open defecation. It also integrates agriculture through Food
Always In The Home (FAITH) gardening concept.
IV. OBJECTIVES
Specifically, the program aims to:

household with chemical free food, as well as cash for extra vegetable
produce. It also contributes to animal feed, while drawing on the
livestock activity for manure.
•2. ENVIRONMENTAL SANITATION

This component will address the common root of community health problems- the unsanitary health
surroundings and elimination of the breeding grounds of non-beneficial insects and harmful bacterial
colonies.
This component will also reinforce the zero open defecation campaign of the Municipality by giving
out sanitary toilet bowls to PO members who do not have latrines yet.
•3.Mobilizing Community Development Facilitators (Organic
community extension/development workers)
The program will mobilize organic community development workers who will facilitate the
capability building activities of barangays and peoples organizations. Barangay Animal Health
Assistant (BAHA) and Barangay Health Workers and BNS will be tap as community development
workers.

The Community Development Facilitators will facilitate project activities within the assigned cluster.
She/he will stimulate community actions and wider community engagement. She/he will provide
technical inputs as needed or link the communities to resource persons and organizations that can
provide support. She/he takes notes on activities, process and results and takes this to the
program-level discussions in the Municipality.
•4. CAPABILITY BUILDING

The main focus under this strategy at the start of program implementation will be the strengthening of the leadership and
management of the existing structures within the barangays and people’s organization, the consolidation and effective
mobilization of its members and assistance to them in the acquisition of organizational and technical skills.
As one of the outputs, the program will facilitate the formulation of strategic plans of people’s organizations.
Among the trainings and seminars that will be conducted are: Basic Leadership Skills Training, Local Governance, Values
Re-orientation, Project Management Cycle and Project Proposal Writing.
•5. REACTIVATION OF BARANGAY SANITARY INSPECTOR’S

barangays will be required to provide budgetary support for BSI’s monthly allowance as the municipal
