A STORY: GIO, LATIF, AND THE LASKA.

1. The first salient point is Gio being an international student since it is a great example of
how globalization helps integrate different countries with different cultures.
2. Gio and his Malaysian friend Latif have a discussion about globalization and how it has
helped countries around the world become more informed about one another. Latif
learned about the Philippines by watching Filipino teleseryes, and this situation
exemplifies globalization through technology.
3. When Latif introduces Gio to Malaysian culture by introducing him to Malaysian cuisine,
this represents the benefits of cultural globalization. The exchange of different cultures
can lead to the enrichment of our own experiences and the understanding of other
cultures.
4. When Gio and Latif are both familiar with the Australian-inspired cafés since it is both
present in the Philippines and Malaysia, it demonstrates globalization through commerce
and this helps countries expand their transactions while also introducing their culture
through this.
5. Gio and Latif's interaction via social media platforms, specifically Instagram, Facebook,
and email. This is a way of social globalization with the help of technology.
6. When Gio went to Singapore to work after graduating is another example of globalization
because it shows the spread of jobs across national borders, which benefits us because
there will be more available jobs worldwide.
7. When Gio notices that Singapore and Malaysia have similarities, he also realizes that
Laksa is available in both countries.

LET’S REVIEW IT AGAIN!

1. How have you experienced globalization?

 One way I have experienced globalization is through the rise of technology. With
the internet, I am able to communicate with people all over the world and have
access to a wealth of information. In addition, advances in transportation have
made it easier to travel to different parts of the world.

Another way I have experienced globalization is through the rise of multinational

corporations. These companies have operations in many different countries, and
their products are consumed by people all over the world. This has led to a more
global economy, as trade between different countries has increased.

2. Why it is crucial to emphasize that globalization is uneven?

 It is critical to stress that globalization is uneven for a variety of reasons. For first
off, globalization has aided the rise of multinational corporations, which now wield
unprecedented power and influence. Second, globalization has increased inequality
within and across countries. Finally, globalization has had a significant impact on
our environment, with potentially disastrous consequences for the planet.

3. What is the difference between globalization and globalism?

 The concepts of globalization and globalism are hotly debated, with many people
using the terms interchangeably. There are, however, subtle but significant
differences between the two concepts. Globalization refers to the growing
interconnectedness of people and nations around the world, whereas globalism is
the belief that people and organizations should collaborate to create a more global
society.
