Subject : Technical Report for Overload Relay

Location : Boutique Studio City – 17

As per your request for the technical report for the above-mentioned elevators please refer to
below mentioned observation, possible cause and recommendation for your reference.

Observation:
Elevator stopped during the travelling. Our technicians found that lift was overloaded.

Immediate Actions Taken:

Our technicians immediately rescued the 2 trapped passengers inside and checked the overload
switch and overspeed governor, at the time overspeed governor is activated but overload switch is
not activated.

Detailed Description of Identified Root Cause:

As per our analysis our technician reported that lift is full load and overload relay is not activated
that time because the weight was loaded at one side only, normally the weight should be in center
position. We cannot check error history on PLC controller due lift controller is old model. While lift
is going down the speed is slightly exceeded, at the time the overspeed governor is activated.
During 3rd party inspection overload and overspeed governor switches are in good condition.

Action Plan:
We are suggesting not to overload the lift and put the goods in center of the cabin.
