manufacturing company, It’s a medium size single stories two separate floor workshop
with one inventory store room, 1 CNC Room and offices that are constructed on one
side top of building . In workshop all operations are carried out within the building floor.

I studied ILO standards (C115 conventions and RI67 recommendations), HSE Uk OHS
Standard and code of practice for machinery and some article with regard to Health and
safety for manufacturing industries. Then I decided to use ILO-OHS code of practice as
benchmark for this risk assessment.
To identify hazards I physically visitor Orchid Tobacco workshop, and physically inspect
all activities which are part of my risk assessment.
I gathered site related information through physical observation, physical inspection of
workplace. I physically inspected all the equipment’s and workplace, I checked their
maintenance and inspection record. I observed how workers were performing their jobs,

Moral, financial and legal arguments for ALL actions

1. Employer has moral duty and duty of care towards its all the workers, and other staff
to make sure their prevention from any kind of suffering, pain and lose. When health
and safety of company will not be managed properly, workers, people, and many of
us can injured or killed and suffered from terrible diseases. Because of such suffering
their families and dependents can also suffer, this type of sorrow is not morally
acceptable. It is the moral responsibility of employer to ensure provision of safe
workplace, safe work environment, safe work equipment, safe system of work, and
procedures. It is moral responsibility of employer to invest on health and safety of
employees. By investing and updating new technological machines that are more safe
and efficient, ergonomically better, by segregating all operational activates, by
providing sufficient PPE’s. Employer will fulfil his moral duty provision of safe
workplace, safe work equipment, and personal protection for every other worker or
visitor moving around.
FINANCIAL ARGUMENTS:

Employer can have indirect cost benefits like it will increase good reputation of
business, it will increase customer goodwill, by using new technological machines
that will increase productivity with good quality products, employer will be able to fulfil
orders timely.
LEGAL ARGUMENTS:
ILO-OSH-R14 and C155 Provide legal guidance and placed legal obligations on employer.

that could lead to legal prohibition notice for employer, those activities could be stop.
As employer is breaching law in many area, employer can face legal prosecution
notice from court as well. Successful prosecution can lead to employer heavy fine and
imprisonment of workers, engineers, and mangers.
By having any type of accident or illness employer could receive civil claim from
effected workers, high cost is associated with these compensation claims, (legal
costs, lawyers cost).
If any accident happen employer can lose Business reputation, current orders,
contracts, future projects.

Review, communicate and check
Planned review date/period I have selected annual review date is January 2023. There are many reason for selecting 1
and year period for action and review. The first reason is there is a company health and safety

review date is ILO recommends annual review.
But it could be reviewed before the annual review date. If

After approval from management all the risk assessment findings, minutes of meetings, and
management suggestions will be communicated through tool box talk to all workers,
operators to get them aware about hazards and risk associated with their workplace. To
share control measure or solution this will positively impact on workers behavior they will
somehow start behaving safely. And this help in improving the safety culture.

not completed. Then I will immediately consult with finance manager and managing director
to allocate resources and provide any type of required assistance on time.
I will create a checklist for all activities to ensure that every equipment is well maintained and
inspected before use.
I will get daily reports from supervisors about daily tool box talk is conducted with relevant
topic and knowledge. I will personally make sure the Proper use of PPES, I will conduct
