determine the purpose of
stage directions and be

Introduction:
Yesterday, we talked
about the importance of
stage directions and how
it should affect our
acting. Today, we will
discuss what we expect
out of Scrooge. We will
be continuing to scenes

how stage directions
affect the play. After we
perform, we will be able
to discuss what happened
and what it means or
symbolizes.

Procedures:
● We already have
roles to read scene
5, so read scene 5
first.
● After scene 5, set
Roles for Scenes
6-10. Make sure
every student has
a role or two.
When the roles are
chosen, write them
on the board and
tell the students
to highlight their
parts.
● When the roles are
set, remind the
students that we
are acting these
roles out, so we will
be moving around
during this period.
● Get everyone in a
set position and
ready to go.
● Start reading
scenes 6-10
● After each scene,
give a quick
breakdown of what
happened in the
scene
● After scenes 6-10,
have the students
return to their
seats.
● Have the students
pull up their
schoology and pull
the comprehension
questions up.
● Guide the students
