NARRATIVE REPORT ON DEPED 4TH NATIONAL CLIMATE

CHANGE CONFERENCE
NOVEMBER 19 – 25, 2020

The Greenhouse Effect is a naturally occurring process in our planet

to make it conducive for living. This greenhouse effect is good to our planet
but too much is dangerous. Due to human activities, greenhouse gases
accumulate in the atmosphere. This results in the enhanced greenhouse
effect which keeps more heat from sun rays into the atmosphere leading to
higher global temperatures.

Climate change is a change in the pattern of weather, and related

changes in oceans, land surfaces and ice sheets, occurring over time scales
of decades or longer.

In celebration of the Global Warming and Climate Change

Consciousness Week and the National Day of Youth for Climate Action the
Department of Education (DepEd) through the Disaster Risk Reduction and
Management Service (DRRMS) with the support of the Information and
Communications Technology Service (ICTS), Public Affairs Service (PAS), and
the Bureau of Learner Support Services Youth Formation Division (BLSS-
YFD) launched the 4th National Climate Change Conference (NCCC) last
17-25 November 2020 through a series of online learning sessions with the
theme “Alpas: Channeling youth eco-anxiety to climate action”.

On 19 November, the Opening Ceremony will include a keynote

address from Ms. Anouchka Grose, a British-Australian psychoanalyst and
author of A Guide to Eco-Anxiety: How to Protect the Planet and Your
Mental Health, and presentations from five learners on their inspiring and
proactive climate action stories.

The following day, 20 November, the 2019 Climate Action Advocacy

The whole week was meaningful and momentous especially in our

students.
They also realized the importance of loving our mother earth and
how we can help to control the continuous climate change by planting and
gardening at home.
Now a day, climate change has been the focus of discussion due to its
effect, and this conference had really significance to one of the DepEd core
value, MAKAKALIKASAN.
Attached herewith are the photos which evidently show the
participation of Tranca Elementary School.
