SAMPLE INTERVIEW GUIDE

Interview Questions: Please answer the following questions.

4th year

1. How will you describe your experiences in your clinical learning environment in

terms of?

1.1 Academic Readiness

A. Do you study before your duty on the clinical learning environment? Why?

-Oo. As a student kailangan mo magaral lalo pag bago ka palang. Dapat

may background ka para pag nagtanong sila may maisasaagot.

B. Do you find it difficult learning from online due to Covid-19 pandemic and

then being exposed in the clinical learning environment? Why?

- Oo, sa online kasi hindi ganun sineryoso mga estudyante aminin natin.
Mula online tas biglang clinical, kami yung batch na kulang sa return
demo, late na nga kami nagdemo sa IM, IV. Nahirapan kami kasi wala pa
kaming knowledge. Wala din kaming demo pa nun sa instruments. Ex.
Hindi pa alam mga instruments meron at merong mapapagalitan dahil dito

1.2 Clinical Practice

A. Do you find it difficult to apply what you’ve learned from online lectures in

the clinical learning environment? Why?

-Oo, hindi kasi ganun sineryoso ang online. Petiks petiks lang. Minsan
dependent sa ibang classmates. Pwedeng dumepende kayo sa isa’t isa .
Pero sa clinical kailangan mo nang dumepende sasarili mo lang. You have
to stand on your own. Iba iba kasi tayo ng learning style may mga prefer
online or face-to-face

B. Do you know exactly what has to be done in your assigned areas in the

clinical learning environment? If yes, how? And if no, why?

- Oo, bumalik lang kasi ako sa pagaaral kaya may idea na ako. Pero hindi
ako ganun ka-confdent na alam ko lahat.

C. Does Covid-19 Pandemic affect your performance in the clinical learning

environment? How?

- Oo, nakulangan nga kami sa return demo dahil sa Covid 19 kaya

nakaapekto din sya sa clinical assignment namin. 
1.3 Clinical Instructors

A. Is it easy or difficult to keep up with the teachings of your clinical instructors?

-alam naman ng mga instructors na wala kaming knowledge kasi kami yung
galing sa batch ng pandemic. Nagtuturo naman sila
- hindi naman kami nahirapan magadjust kasi hindi naman nila pinaramdam
bakit hindi mo to alam ganun.
-Bago ka isabak sa isang area. Ioorient at it-tour ka naman nila, anong
kailangan I-prepare, tinuturo din ang instruments sa hospital.

B. Do you find it difficult to approach your clinical instructors? Why?

- Hindi. Approachable sila lalo si sir brando. They are willing to share
their knowledge. Strict sila pero madaming natututnan.

C. Are your clinical instructors helpful when you’re having trouble with your

assigned work?

-Yes, super matulungin ni sir brando. Kapag ang estudyante nagkakaproblema

during duty hours. Idedefend ka nya para matuto gagawin at gagawin nya.

1.3 What were your feelings during your exposure in the clinical learning

environment during the Covid-19 pandemic?

- Kinabahan or Anxious sa 1st duty normal naman sa lahat. Natakot din sa

covid. Kailangan sumunod sa protocol at mag-mask. Pero hindi naman

tumatanggap ang vmu ng covid patient kaya hindi naman ganun

nakakatakot.

2. How did the Covid-19 Pandemic affect you as student nurse during your placement in

your clinical learning environment?

- Ang napansin ko lang mas limited ang patient sa VMU. Minsan nga wlang
patient or case. Wala ding ICU kaya limited din ang makukuhang
knowledge.

3. What coping mechanisms did you utilize to survive your experiences?

- Maganda yung mapabilang ka sa good set of friends para makasurvive. Good

foundation sya. Nam-motivate nyo ang isa’t isa. Pag may good influence
nakakasipag.

4. How did your experiences affect your daily life?

` -Naapektuhan in a good way. Naexperience mo paano magduty during covid.

Nagbigay sya ng inspiration kung paano ka makatulong sa pasyente.
