Leadership Criteria and Guide Questions
Leadership Criteria and Guide Questions
- There are some instances wherein my classmates fight over trivial matters
due to misunderstandings and conflicts of different attitudes. In situations
like these, first, I listen to both sides of the argument before commenting or
giving reactions. After they have calmed down a bit, I will now bring up the
concern to our adviser or any teacher available in class to finally settle the
dispute. If the discordance between the two has not yet been resolved, I
try to put them in a room where they can openly discuss about what went
wrong and I allow them to release their grudges against each other and
learn to forgive until they realize the value of their friendship once more.
Normally, an excellent method for such cases is not to blame anyone, give
each other spaces to reflect, and deeply talk it all through at the right time.
B1. Plans and Designs relevant activities for the class, club and/or school
(What relevant activities did you plan and organize for your
class/club/school?)
Name of activity/ies Date Role Remarks
- One characteristic that I like about myself is having the ability to logically
organize my timeline or schedule and make time for each of my tasks but
also knowing when I am unable to complete anymore within a particular
period because I am a detail-oriented person. In planning activities, I
prioritize the toughest tasks above the easiest ones to process a smooth
flow of production and prevent myself from procrastinating. I also map out
risks and execute strategic plans for any unexpected complications. I
monitor my performance regularly and provide continuous support. In my
view, we should master and start with efficient and realistic planning before
implementing the activities since it helps us to be accountable for what we
do and decide how best to use our resources. Once I am sensibly aware
and ready to implement the tasks, I proceed on following the step-by-step
process tactically based on my plan and stay optimistic as the old maxim
goes, “By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.”
- As far as I remember, the services I rendered that are relevant to our school
community are mostly written files or papers supporting the programs of
Saint Joseph School such as the articles from the recently reformed
organization of SJS Advocate (School Paper), scripts, and project proposals
with the Grade 12 - Core Group, various performances, and many other
interactive exercises. I have already served as a seminar facilitator and
speaker and generated a promotional video for the ABM strand of the
Senior High School Department. As mentioned above, I also contributed to
the planning, construction, operations, and development of the learning
hub located on the third floor of the high school building and a lot more.
(In implementing your tasks/activities, how did you manifest/practice the core
values of a Josephian?)
- I have been studying at Saint Joseph School for almost fourteen years now.
I have spent more than half of my life in school and I can say that being a
Josephian is not just a simple title or identity but a substantial privilege in
manifold aspects. They have molded me into the person I am today with
the core values instilled in me including the virtue of discipline that
Josephians are best known for.
TRUST - The value of trust is a very crucial instrument in group activities. Thus, I give
and earn trust by investing time in personally knowing others and committing
myself to healthy relationships with my classmates, teachers, and other
individuals. However, above all else, I started building trust within myself. I first
discovered my personal values, boundaries, and skills to remind myself of what is
really important to me which is self-assurance. Little by little, I am learning to
consistently stay true to myself because at its very core, trusting myself implies
being hopeful to survive life for whatever is coming ahead of me.
