In 1 John 2:3-6, the apostle clearly brought the need for obedience
to the commandments of God. “We know that we have come to know
Him if we keep His commands. Whoever says, “I know Him”, but does
not do what He commands is a liar, and the truth is not in that person.
But if anyone obeys His word, love for God is truly made complete in
them. This is how we know we are in Him: Whoever claims to live in
Him must live as Jesus did”.
Another point in John’s approach to obedience is that it makes us
have a life separate from what the world – as a system corrupted and
compacted with sin and darkness – offers us. “Do not love the world or
anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is
not in them. For everything in the world – the lust of the flesh, the lust
of the eyes, and the pride of life – comes not from the Father but from
the world” (1 John 2:15-16).
The world is not just the physical space, what we see like mountains,
trees, and rivers. The word “world” refers to the “cosmos”, that is to say,
to this system that lies in the hands of the evil one – the world, with its
entire glamor, with all its neon, that attracts so much people. And it is to
this world that John refers, when he says: “Do not love the world”. Our
hearts must love the Lord fully. He has to be at the center of our lives.
In addition, we need to look at how we have walked, after all:
“This is how we know who the children of God are and who the
children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right
is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother
and sister” (1 John 3:10). John dealt with these two realities in
his epistle: faith and conduct. They must go together. There
are many people who have faith, but when we observe them
in their conduct, we do not see in them the life of God. The
greatest evidence that we are of the Lord is when we witness
of His Word in us to the lost.
May we fulfill what the Letter of John teaches us, so that
we may be a living letter in Christ to those who are near or
far from us. This is my prayer!

THE WAY TO SIN

Base text: Genesis 3.1-6.
Introduction: We are targeted by commercial ads at all times.
Some are good and honest, but many are malicious, highlighting
advantages and hiding disadvantages. Large signs promise the
“sky”, but the fine print guarantees “hell”. We see this on billboards,
posters and television advertising, which shows fast, unreadable
texts, often even vertically written, containing restrictions on the
wonderful proposals announced.
Temptation is a kind of propaganda. It’s Satan’s marketing.
The advantages exist and are published, but the disadvantages
are covered up. The price is not always announced. The fruit is
tasty and brings some kind of knowledge, but the tempter did
not say that there would also be the loss of paradise and terrible
curses upon mankind. In this way, he offers his “products”, but the
decision is always human.
Example: movies, books, soap operas and series advertise
sex without marriage and without limits, but does not warn of
unwanted pregnancies, sexually transmitted diseases, alimony
and loneliness that can result from lack of commitment.
The temptation passes through the physical senses, which are
the doors and windows of the soul. Eve listened to the serpent,
looked at the tree, touched the fruit and brought it to her mouth. In
the same way, sin draws us today. Resistance must be anticipated
for a few steps before the main showdown. Paul said that “evil
communications corrupt good manners” (1 Corinthians 15.33).
Therefore, it is best to close the door while it is time. It is best
to avoid all company and all conversation that can lead us to sin.
If Eva avoided the dialogue with the serpent, the story could be
different. It does not mean that we will be isolated from the world,
but we will avoid, if possible, people and places that are tempting
to us. Maturity will enable us to successfully face many challenges
as has happened to Christ who faced and overcame temptation
(Matthew 4.1-11), but in many cases running away is the best way
out (1 Timothy 6.11; 2 Timothy 2.22).
On the other hand, it is important to hear the word of God and
to seek a way of life that is in accord with such teachings. This is
the way of life and happiness.

“A horrible massacre.” Thus, the Catholic Church of Venezuela
called the operation made by “military forces”, which executed the
pilot Oscar Perez and six men this January. “This act places us
before the degradation and disrespect of the dignity and human
rights belonging to any person. There is a lot of evidence that
needs to be investigated and reasonably explained to relatives
and the entire Venezuelan community. These included the lack

Just as Josué, Janaina Melo, can really say, “I and my
house will serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:15). She is a leader of
small group of Lagoinha Caruaru, in the state of Pernambuco,
Brazil. Together with her husband, Marcone Veríssimo, and her
daughter, Rebeca Melo. Currently, the trio leads two small groups
- one adult and one child. The work began less than a month
ago, but the family has already reaped fruit. In one of the last
meetings, for example, two children, only 6 years old, decided for
Jesus. “It was a beautiful moment,” said Janaína.
Although the meetings started a short time ago, sowing in
the lives of these children has been done for some time and was
only possible because of the work together with the families.
“Small groups work at the same time. While parents stay in the
adult small group, the children stay in another room. So having
a child is not a hindrance. On the contrary, they also receive
ministrations, “he explains.

SCHOOL OF PARENTS AND ADOLESCENT CHILDREN

Integrated course in which both audiences learn at the same time
Registration is open for the School of Parents and “Adolescent”
Children (13 to 19 years), a course in which both audiences learn
at the same time. The next class will start on February 4 and end
on March 25, with seven Sunday meetings, from 9 am to 12 pm, at
the Fé Salon, at Lagoinha’s Headquarters ( Manoel Macedo, 360
Street, São Cristóvão - BH / MG).
The School of Parent’s purpose is to teach them how to deal
with and better educate their children. They will learn the best ways
to establish harmonious and respectful living together at home.
The course will be taught with oriented lectures, group dynamics,
and individualized monitoring. Coupled with a modern content and
an efficient methodology, the course aims to teach and motivate
parents to assume their roles as educators and disciplers of their
children, leading them to recover the values of Christian education,
relationship, and communication; learn the biblical principles in a
contemporary context and deal with this generation connected to
games, media and social networks. During classes, topics such
as forgiveness, reconciliation, sexuality, dating, temperaments,
drugs, and others are addressed.
The School of Adolescent Children addresses the same
issues, but in an adapted way, with a language that’s relevant
to teenagers. While parents will learn to set boundaries and
discipline for their children, children will learn about the protection
and blessings derived from obedience to their parents.

generous heart, and because it was as rewarded by God.
His name was Dorcas (Acts 9.36-43). She made clothes
and gave gifts to many women with the same. But one day
Dorcas was affected by an illness and died. Then, some
disciples of Jesus asked Peter was called to go to her.
Women wept and showed the clothing which Dorcas had
made and given to them. And you know what happened?
Pedro prayed for Dorcas and she returned to live. Why? She
reaped what they sowed. Dorcas was generous blessing
other people. God saw everything that she did. Keep this
truth in your heart: there is nothing that he did not see.
Beloved, in heaven you have no memories here.

here on earth, will remain there. Jesus said: any that has
given only a cup of cold water to one of these little ones,
in the name of a disciple, verily I say unto you, he shall in
no wise lose his reward” (Matthew 10.42). It is true that
in heaven nobody will be jealous of one another, because
there is not envy. However, there is a big difference between
one and another: some have awards, others do not. God
sees the works of his hands.
And there is something that is so glorious at seeding:
when you sow a grain of corn, you will not reap a grain,
but rather a whole cob. Perhaps you tell me: “But if i don’t
receive?”. If you do not receive, their children, grandchildren,
great-grandchildren, certainly, will receive.
Perhaps, you do not have the gift of preaching, singing,
or make a beautiful theatrical presentation. However,
something that we can all do is bring our best and leave it
on the altar of the Lord. To do this, my brother, and you will
see how many fruit harvest.

The twenty years of Diante do Trono
(Before the Throne)
Twenty years ago, one of the worship ministries that most impacted Brazil was born. Known for their production of
spontaneous songs, Diante do Trono brought a knew way of “doing” Christian music, gathering millions of people together for
the recordings of their over 40 CD’s. How many tears of surrender to the Lord were shed while listening to “Preciso de Ti”?
How many people, for the first time, really felt like God’s children while listening to “Nos Bracos do Pai”, “Manancial”… There
were many songs that were used to minister to people’s hearts. Many souls surrendered to Christ. Thousands of lives were
transformed. Lagoinha was also never the same. Since 1998, our church gained enormous exposure nationally. God, wanted
to extrapolate the borders of Belo Horizonte. Taking the essence of true worship, the group traveled throughout Brazil. Over
10 million CD’s were sold and interpreters such as Andre Valadao, Mariana Valadao, Helena Tannure and Nivea Soares were
revealed through DT. Through the power of the Holy Spirit of God, a legacy was built that echoed beyond Brazilian territory,
reaching Latin America and many other corners of the world. We pray for 20 more years, for the honor and glory of our Lord
Jesus.

1998
Diante do Trono was born. The first CD and DVD were recorded
on January 31st of 1998 at the Lagoinha headquarters, uniting 7
thousand people.

1999
The second CD is recorded, “Exaltado”. The group began to
travel to various states in Brasil and to other countries.

2000
The CD and DVD “Águas Purificadoras” is recorded, gathering
over 70 thousand people at a park in Belo Horizonte (Parque de
Exposições da Gameleira).

2001
Gathering 210 thousand people, in Mineirao, DT recorded the
CD and DVD “Preciso de Ti’. The Grammy of gospel music in Brazil,
“Trofeu Talento”, recognized DT as the group of the year and the song
“Preciso de Ti” as the song of the year. They began the production of
the collector’s special “Brasil Diante do Trono”.

2002
The recording of the CD “Nos Braços do Pai”, at the Esplanada
dos Ministérios, in Brasília, brought together 1,2 million people.

2003
Over 2 million people showed up to the last event of the “Brasil
Diante do Trono” series, in Sao Paulo. The Trofeu Talento rewarded
the album “Quero Me Apaixonar”, Pr. Ana Paula Valadao as the Best
Female Interpreter, Nivea Soares as the Revealed Singer, and the
project Criancas Diante do Trono as the best children’s CD for the
album “Amigo de Deus”.

2004
With a choir made up of 5,5 thousand and a public of 1,2 million
people, DT recorded “Esperanca” live, which was also rewarded by
the Trofeu Talento.

During the recording of “Ainda Existe uma Cruz”, in Porto Alegre,
pastors from various locations prayed a prayer of repentance for the
sins of the church of Jesus.

2006
“Por Amor de Ti, Oh Brasil”, recorded in Belem, was composed
of 10 songs, all written by Ana Paula Valadão.
2007
The albums “Tempo de Festa” and “Com Intensidade” were
recorded to celebrate the 10 years of DT. The group also recorded
the CD “Principe da Paz”
2008
Made up of 10 unpublished songs, the CD and DVD “A
Cancao do Amor” was recorded in two days at the Chevrolet Hall
of Recife.
2009
The twelfth live productions was “Tua Visao”, featuring special
participants such as, Mariana & Felippe Valadao, Fernanda Brum
and Nivea Soares.
2010
“Aleluia” surpassed the mark of 150 thousand CDs sold in one
month. The CD was recorded in Barretos and was a partnership
made to raise funds for a cancer hospital in the city.
2011
“Sol da Justica” was recorded in two days in Natal. The
album “Gloria de Deus” ended up in a partnership with Gateway
church and was recorded in the Lagoinha headquarters during the
International Congress of Worship Diante do Trono.
2012
The CD “Creio”, recorded in Manaus, celebrated the 15 years
of the ministry and had the participation of Pr. Ludmila Ferber, the
apostle Gilmar Britto, Pr. Ana Lucia Camara, Pr. Thomas Miller
and Mariana & Felippe Valadao.
2013
“Renovo” was recorded live at Expominas, in Belo Horizonte,
and brought songs such is “Vitoria da Criz” and “Nos Bracos do Pai”.
2014
The recording of “Tu Reinas”, in Juazeiro do Norte, had a choir of
2,2 thousand people along with participations from Andre & Mariana
Valadao and Juliano Son.
2015
“Tetelestai” was recorded in Jerusalem – for the first time
recording outside of Brasil – in partnership with Gateway Church.
2016
The CD “Imersao 1”was recorded in an acoustic format at the
Fellowship church, in Dallas, and had 21 spontaneous worship
songs.
2017
“Deserto de Revelacao” was recorded in Jordan and had images
captured at the sea of galilee. During the recordings they visited many
refugee camps in the country, accompanied by over 100 caravanists.
The CD “Imersao 2”, was recorded at the Lagoinha Headquarters
and released.
2018
The Congress Adoration, Intercession and Missions will happen
from March 29th to the 31st to commemorate the 20 years of Diante do
Trono, there will be many special moments.

The Minas Country Mission ministry (MCM), from our church,
in partnership with the Global Arts and Mission team, is going
to promote the congress Missionary Passion, on February 3rd,
from 9am to 6pm, at the Fábrica de Artes (Formiga st., 450, São
Cristóvão – BH/MG). There will be a specific missionary training
and the participation of brothers from Goiânia and Peru, besides
