Deep
knowledge
When we read the book of Job, we per-
ceive there a man in whose life misfortune
had lodged. He had lost his children, his pos-
sessions, and his health, and all along the
way some friends tried to bring comfort to
him, but Job, among many things, writes: "
Then Job replied to the Lord: I know that you
can do all things; no purpose of yours can be
thwarted.You asked, Who is this that obscu-
res my plans without knowledge?  Surely I
spoke of things I did not understand,things
too wonderful for me to know. You said, Lis-
ten now, and I will speak; I will question you,
and you shall answer me. My ears had heard
of you but now my eyes have seen you. The-
refore I despise myself and repent in dust
and ashes."(Job 42: 1-6).
Job spoke many things without the full
knowledge of God and because he spoke
so many things without knowing, attributing
to God acts that he had never done, Job re-
pents, and says, "I knew you only from hea-
ring speak, but now my eyes they see you.
"Everything changes when we come to know
God. What is your level of knowledge about
God? Just listening to talk? Job said, "I only
knew you to hear, but now my eyes see you."
But how can we see God if He is invisible?
When we begin to know the Word of God,
we become intimate with it. We begin to feel
pleasure in God. We take pleasure in going
to the house of God. Our priority is his will,
not ours anymore.
Faith is you believe that God will fulfill all
that He has promised in His Word. That is
to know God. We only know someone as we
understand their character. The main reason
we do not seek God is unbelief. We want so-
mething tangible, something we can touch.
Lack of knowledge of God causes people
to gossip, slander. They invent the most ab-
surd things only because they do not know
the Lord. “They make ready their tongue
like a bow, to shoot lies; it is not by truth
that they triumph in the land. They go from
one sin to another; they do not acknowledge
me,declares the Lord.” (Jeremiah 9: 3).
People who throw lie darts, people who
strengthen themselves on earth, but not with
truth, people who advance in the path of ma-
lice and speak of what they do not know is
because they do not know God. However,
the person who knows the Lord is totally di-
fferent. It is attached to the truth, because
Jesus is the truth that truly liberates (John
8:36). “but let the one who boasts boast
about this: that they have the understanding
to know me, that I am the Lord, who exer-
cises kindness, justice and righteousness
on earth, for in these I delight, declares the
Lord.” (Jeremiah 9:24).

Brazil

Prayer Meeting from Monday to Saturday in the temple, from 6 to 7 am

"If my people, who are called by
my name, shall humble themselves,
and pray, and seek me, and turn from
their wicked ways, then will I hear
from heaven and will forgive their sin
and will heal their land" (2 Cor 7.14).
We were in Venezuela in three
consecutive years, recently. We have
seen the suffering of the Venezuelan
people under the oppression of
bolivariano communism, the same
that has tried to impose on other
countries in South America, like
Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, and in
Brazil itself, for example.
Inflation there is extremely
high. Pr. Joaquim Sobrinho, from
Palmas, Tocantins, was representing
our ministry in two congresses of
Gideons, in the cities of Valencia
and Barquisimeto, in the past year,
and said that only one dollar cost 41
thousand “bolivares” (name of local
currency). Although he was taking
some dollars to help the local church,
he could not leave anything there
since the Venezuelans are prohibited
to carry dollars at home. The famine
has entered the homes and violence
grows each day. Churches have
been attacked several times, with a
short interval between an assault and
another. The idolatry walks along with
the witchery in Venezuela, and both
make great destruction on families.
The pastors and leaders of
churches have recognized that God is
dealing with the pride of Venezuelans
and all Christians have joined to cry
out to the Lord. And God has given
us the privilege of being able to
pray and intercede to the Lord for
the nations. This year, the Lord has
called you to cry out for Brazil. We
need to look around, contemplating
the nations that surround us, the
dangers of entering in a situation
similar to that of Venezuela, and
devote time to pray for our homeland.
The Lord wants to lead you to climb
with Him and to put yourself in the
watchtower. And from there pray and
lead others to pray for Brazil and the
United Nations. We know that the
world will go from bad to worse, as
the Scriptures tell us, however, while
the church is in this world, it needs
to be salt and, for its sake, because
of its presence on earth, it avoids the
enemy to destroy the peoples with
tyranny and oppression.
Remember that we have the key to
revival in our hands: the prayer. This
key opens the heavens and brings
the blessings that we are reserved
for every occasion. Then, look at
Venezuela and pray for this nation.
Look at Brazil and pray for elections
this year: we have a president,
senators and representatives of
the people in government who are
intact and have thoughts of peace
and prosperity for our people. We
also need to have representatives
who love Israel and have biblical
principles in their lives and projects.
Love Israel means to be a nation
blessed according to the Word of
God and we see this in the light of
the history of mankind in the course
of civilizations.
Let’s, then, pray for Brazil now?
Let's pray for elections this year?
Let's pray for Venezuela and its
suffering people?
I invite those who are able to be
with us from Monday to Saturday from
6 to 7 am, in the temple, to intercede.
Bring in this healthy habit of praying

UNDER THE
GAZE OF GOD
"THE LORD looks from heaven upon the
children of men" (Psalm 14.2). The man
is under the gaze of God during his entire
life, including the intrauterine life. Since the
conception, since the embryo, since the
birth: "Thou sawest when my bones were
being made, when I was being formed in
the belly of my mother, growing up there in
secret, you have seen me before I was born"
(Ps 139.15,16).
The Lord does not see one person
here and another there. Not only sees the
good, but also the bad. He does not see only
the chosen people, but also the gentiles. "The
Lord of heaven looks and sees all humanity;
his throne he observes all the inhabitants
of the earth" (Psalm 33.41). This breadth of
divine look is good and it is also bad. It is
good because God sees the pain, suffering,
oppression and any other discomfort of the
human being and He is touched. The Lord
saw the mistreatment that the pharaoh has
inflicted on the people of Israel (Ex 3.7); the
Lord saw the bitterness with which everyone
in Israel, both slaves and free, were suffering
at the time of king Jeroboam (2Rs 14.26);

THE NATURE OF THE
MARITAL ALLIANCE
In one of his studies, Hernandes Dias Lopes shows the biblical matrix
of marriage. He says, "Marriage is a voluntary alliance of love between a
man and a woman, marriage is not compulsory. It is a voluntary choice.
No one makes two people marry. When they unite in this covenant, they
devote love to one another. They accept to enter under the same yoke.
They make a covenant, a covenant to belong to one another, to care for
each other, to be faithful to one another. Marriage is a covenant (Prov.
2:17). Proverbs 5.18 exhorts the husband to rejoice with the wife of his
youth. Marriage is an alliance of fellowship, it was not meant for the
spouses to compete, but to cooperate. They must take care of the other,
as they take care of themselves. They are companions, that is, they
must be together in joy and sorrow, in health and disease, in prosperity
and in adversity. It is an alliance witnessed by God, he is the architect,
the foundation and the sustainer of marriage. He is present. He is the
chief witness. Marriage was instituted by Him, done in His presence. We
should ask Him for the spouse. We must build the relationship upon Him
(Psalm 127: 1). The three-fold cord does not break easily (Ec 4.12). "

restoration of this foundation when they are in a state of discouragement
in life for two. We know that God is not in favor of divorce, He wants His

To be able to deliver the tithes and offerings faithfully to the Lord, it
is necessary that this be our priority. The text from Proverbs make this
very clear:
"Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the fi rstfruits of all your crops;
then your barns will be fi lledto overfl owing, and your vats will brim over
with new wine." (Proverbs 3.9,10).
Our tithes and our offerings honor God. Therefore, the fi rst part of
our income should be devoted to Him. When you receive your fi nancial
resources, your fi rst attitude should be to separate the fi rstfruits to the a priority in our lives, only then we can be faithful, and not dominated

example of an undisputed leadership, mainly, because it marks that

A competent leader recognizes the needs of their followers. This

Missionary trip of Lagoinha teens impacts riverside comunities, in Amazon

The rivers are like streets and avenues. In the
riverside comunities Jacarezinho e Bararuá, located
at the edge of the river Manacapuru, in Amazon, if you

Couples Camp: 23 years of

marriage restoration

The importance of marriage and staying married is known to the

spouses, but understanding the purpose of the marriage alliance
and having attitudes for it to be permanent is not always easy,
families are being attacked by society, the media, and unfortunately
for some is an bankrupt institution. The pressures and challenges of
everyday life can lead to a happy marriage in such a situation that
keep married may seem impossible. Therefore, it is necessary, once
in a while, for couples to participate in lectures, meetings and other
types of activities that can assist them in the marital relationship.
With this in mind and with the goal of renewing the bonds of
love and strengthening, healing, supporting, encouraging, investing,
restoring and counseling husbands and wives, our church through
the Couples Camp, provides a joyful and different weekend for the
couples. The next camp will be on March 10 and 11 of this year, at
the Elim country house in Belo Horizonte, which has the capacity to
receive up to 34 couples, each in a room. Both believing and non-
believing couples can attend the meeting.
With the motto "There is no marriage so bad that it cannot
be transformed and not so good that it cannot be improved," the
Couples Camp consists of two days of preaching and prayer by
pastors and specialists in psychology and psychiatry, among
others. Besides the lectures, the event counts on dynamics in small
groups, dinners and thematic lunches, jokes, advice and prayer.
During the meeting, leaders of the ministry still reserve surprises
for the participants.
The Couples Camp, which belongs to the Lagoinha Family
Ministry, has been in our church for more than 23 years and for 18
years is led by the couple of pastors Airton and Madalena. Married
21 years ago, they are parents of three children. “Couples from
various cities and states have already attended the event. During
the time we are in the ministry, we have received many testimonies
of marriage restoration. Our goal is to take care of couples. We
think of every detail, so that it is a useful moment for them, since
some have not yet had the opportunity to leave for a moment of
investment in the relationship”, says Pastor Madalena. Another goal
of the ministry is to continue caring for the couples who participate
in the camp. In order for them to be accompanied, ministered
and strengthened, the ministry directs them to Small Groups of
couples in Lagoinha. In addition, they provide counseling at the

I thank God for my mother signing me up. I learned that we should

which before had only a glimpse is now stronger, now comes to me

usually unnoticed in our eyes, but written by the good hand of our
Lord. In fact, it's a story inside of a history.
We look around us and it seems like nothing is happening, except
what can be reported by us, but God is weaving his plot in what seems
to have no importance. And so, mere extras are being transformed
into important characters. Even when we don’t realize it, the Lord
makes the details of our lives change people, change destinies, and
we ourselves are transformed through the lives of our brothers and
friends. Has it not been so? Was it not so with the biblical characters?
In the life of the apostle Paul, there was a craftsman who built a
basket thinking to make just one more basket. In fact, that craftsman
was entering into Paul's story without realizing it. If it hadn’t been
for his work, the apostle could have died in Damascus, changing the
whole course of Christianity. The artisan, whose name we don’t even
know, was part of the Lord's story. On another occasion, thirty men
were called by the king to remove the prophet Jeremiah from a deep
cistern, where he had been cast and condemned to death (Jeremiah
38). The thirty men thought that they took one more poor man from
the cistern, when, in fact, they hit the course of history in the hands
of God.
If by the first century I had had the chance to ask the Apostle Paul

which was the most important work of his life, he would probably tell
me that it was the planting of his churches. Because of them he was
being persecuted, imprisoned, slandered. For them, he had traveled
thousands of miles. For them, he had spent all his life. However,
nothing else remains of those local churches. Paul's main work,
without him noticing it, was the letters he wrote to the churches, not
the churches themselves. God preserved his letters and made them
part of what is now the Holy Scripture. Neither was Paul aware of the
preciousness of his letters.
When I think that the hand of God leads my story, even my struggles,
sorrows, pains, then I rest, because I know that at some point in my
history an anonymous craftsman will come to save me in his basket.
Yes, at some point in my history I will also be surprised by some men
pulling me out of the cistern in which I am thrown. I know, however,
that I will only fully understand what is going on around me when I am
in heaven before my Father. But while that doesn’t happen, I can only
say like David: "The Lord will accomplish what concerns me" (Psalm
138.8).
