Pre-assessment of current knowledge: I can send out a survey to parents of the infants beforehand to ask if they have noticed their child using objects to
make noise or if they turn attention toward or notice things that make noise and make an attempt to repeat the action to make the noise themselves.

I will have a checklist of each infant and through observing
them, I will check off whether or not they have noticed/put
their attention to the water bottles as I model the noise-
making. I will also check off whether or not they
themselves attempt to make noise with the bottle by
means of hitting or shaking the bottle.
Academic Language:
Shake, noise, music, move
Procedural steps:
1. Plastic water bottles will be repurposed and small
items such as beans or rice will be placed into the
bottles so that when shaken, the bottle makes noise.
2. The bottles will be placed in front of the infants
within their reach.
3. I will model shaking the bottles and hitting them so
that noise is made from them.
4. The infants will reach for the bottle and try to hit
them or shake them so that they make noise.

One Assessed Developmental

Skill:

is fine motor skills as they are
being developed through the
grasping of the water bottle.

With permission, I can take a picture or video of the infants
exploring with the noise-makers and moving them.

Small water bottles can be used if larger water bottles are
too difficult for some infants to hold in their hands.
