REFLECTION PAPER

Even though I was born in the 21st century, living in province and to be not belong to those financially
stable family, having new technologies is not easily that time. Because of it, I belong to those people who
are ignorant when it comes to computers. I am not really exposed on using high tech gadgets at a young
age. Compare to the young people now who grew up already with technologies around them. That is why
I also could definitely see the differences between the learning environment before and at present.

Nowadays, we are exposed to various technologies that we are now actually using for everything
especially for our studies like laptops and mobile phones. The students could now easily adopt the new
way of learning from school or even through themselves. Even before the pandemic, we already could use
every technologies around us. That’s why when the pandemic came and the demand of using technologies
increased especially the internet. The officials didn’t hesitate to use technologies as our new learning
material. But, likely on what I have been experienced, some can’t afford to have this kind of gadget to use
in their learning. Although we knew how to use these technologies, we cannot still be able to use it like
the other school can. Which they had comfortable online classes where they could actually talk and have
lesson through technologies like laptops specifically phones through the use internet. Another problem is
the abundant of signal strength of internet in our place. We need to go near the sea in order to reach for a
signal . So, we don’t have a choice and just had the other distanced learning system which is through
modular. Under this learning system, teachers just gave a set of modules to answer in their house. That’s
how I learn, moreover, its like a self-learning for me. Because I don’t have someone to teach me about
the lesson. Now, as a future teacher, I’m expecting that, we will use technologies and various platform
through teaching. Also, as the world continue changing, I expect to face again a new environment
learning in the future. The things we use and maybe the students attitude will also change. I promised to
myself that, I will be more prepared when this time comes. But, few years from now, I guess the
environment of learning or the global landscape will stay the same. Therefore, I think it will not be hard
for me to face my students. And I’m sure if ever I continue this profession someday, it’s the time that I
think I already have improvements especially in facing and speaking in front of a lot of people to provide
an effective learning for my students. Because if I can’t be able to overcome this problem of mine, I will
definitely not continue this and I’ll just honestly find some other job for me.

“Changing global landscape for the 21st century Teachers”, teached me to the things I should know when
I become a teacher in this new environment of the students. The world is changing and we couldn’t know
what these changes are in the future. I suggest that, for us to be ready we must remember to equip the
managerial skills to adopt the changes in your classroom and be flexible at all times.
