pictures here and you tell me what you observe. Is

this? -It is the Philippine Flag, teacher.

-Okay, let's proceed. What is this?

-It is the map.

-What is the third picture? -It is the people, teacher.

-Correct!

-It is the Government, teacher.

-So, what is a country?


-Country is a state where we live.
-Correct!

-And I have also here a picture and I want you also


to guess this picture.

-So what is the picture? -It is the Philippine Map.

-Correct!

-So, how can we say that it is a country? -Because country refers to a state or nation.

-Very Good!
-So, now class did you know that there are
elements so the country can be called a country?

2. Discussion

1. Territory

It is one of the characteristics of a country. A


country may only be considered a state if it has a
territory to control in accordance to international
laws. It is important for a country to determine its
territory to avoid foreign invasions or intrusions.

2. People

The citizens of a country are also considered as its


main resource. A country will develop if its people
are productive, united, and supportive of the
government in achieving goals and objectives for
the welfare of the nation. They are expected to be
responsible and loyal to serve and defend their
country during times of wars and hostilities.

3. Government

it is the working agencies of the state.

4. Sovereignty

supreme power of a state or country to govern


itself and to impose obedience to its people,
ensure common good and benefits to all citizens.

A. So, today I will be grouping you into 4 groups


and you will be tasked to create a drawing on how
you perceive the concept of states.
