a. Rationale
Nowadays, teen-agers prefer to work to support their day-to-day expenses rather
than continue their studies, especially since we are dealing with a pandemic that has
affected everyone, particularly those from low-income families.
This program, titled "Basketry Program: Recyclable Woven Baskets," would allow us
to train teenagers and give them the opportunity to try, explore, be creative, and start
their own business while studying. This project is environmentally feasible and
environmentally beneficial in terms of eco-friendly product development. From Trash
to Treasure, it aims to provide hope and light not only to the teenagers but also to
their families. The basket will be use as an alternative to plastic bags in the
market, can be used at home and more. Aside from providing opportunities, it also
aids in the reduction of waste and pollution.
Training and exposure to new ideas and increased technique practice will result in
increased of skill and ability in a large variety of crafts. Divided materials and
techniques are made for making baskets out of recyclable materials. Additionally, this
program encourages environmental awareness and entrepreneurship. It will be
carried out in one of Cabagan's remote communities where with this program we can
provide hope and opportunity to the people of Masipi East Cabagan Isabela.
