Grade Level Grade 9 Quarter Fourth

Semester 2nd Section

Learning Area Science 9 Teaching date April 26, 2023
I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard The learners demonstrate an understanding of projectile
motion, impulse, and momentum. And conservation of linear
momentum.
B. Performance Standard The students should be able to measure distance and time
using appropriate tools and units, and convert between
different units of measurement.

C. Most Essential Learning The learners should be able to: describe horizontal and
Competency/ Objectives vertical motion of a projectile.
At the end of 60 minutes lesson, the students should be able
to:
a. Define and differentiate between distance and time as
scalar quantities.
b. Identify and calculate distance and time using appropriate
units of measurement.
c. Apply their understanding of distance and time to solve
problems.

IV. PROCEDURES
A. Reviewing new lesson or Recap on how to compute for speed.
presenting the new lesson
(ELICIT)
B. Establishing a purpose for the Begin by asking the students to think about their daily
lesson routines and how they involve distance and time. Ask them
(ENGAGE) to share their ideas with the class.

C. Presenting examples / instances of For instance, when we commute to work or school, we often
the new lesson measure the distance and time it takes to go there. For
( ENGAGE) example, if we live 10 kilometers away from our workplace
or school, we might estimate that it takes us 30 minutes to
drive there at an average speed of 20 kilometers per hour.

By knowing the distance and time of our commute, we can

plan our schedule accordingly and make sure we arrive on
time. We can also calculate our average speed and adjust if
necessary to save time.

D. Discussing new concepts and

practicing new skills # 1 Explain that distance is the amount of space between two
(EXPLORE) points, and it is measured in units such as meters, kilometers,
